It’s certain bridges it seems. Never had a problem.
erm what? Everyone in the whole of the world knows that bridges have gaps underneath them lol, the other things are called dams.
Yes but the satellites don’t know it. If you take a photo from an plane you can’t see if someone is standing under the three can you?
That’s the same as saying it can’t tell if there’s a boat under the bridge.
Not the same as knowing a bridge isn’t a dam.
Very first thing I tried when I installed was to emulate the “Mad Major” by flying through Tower Bridge in London in the Cub - “you collided with an object”. Um, I shouldn’t…
I’m voting this up as I’m all about immersion, but this needs to be well away from the priority list. Avionics, performance and stability come way higher up the list (for me).
Agreed, as I came in to land at EGLL last night with a 20kt sidewind, all my MFDs started turning off randomly … then some would come back on and others would turn off - tapping the brightness one way or the other restored them, then they woudl go off again in a second or 2, it was like watching one of those really bad “I made my flashing house visible from 20 miles away” Christmas displays :¬)
It also made me crash twice on takeoff due to the engines not spooling up … can’t fly under bridges if you can’t even get there lol !!
I tried to fly under bridges in the Panama Canal and crashed into an invisible wall. Can we get this fixed please?
You won’t believe the PTSD now that the nice Japanese bridges are handcrafted I still don’t dare to try. Such life.
i did, don’t sure where that was but bridge was not default, and same - bum, crash
The Royal Gorge Park bridge in Colorado near Canon City Colorado is a magnificent place to visit. The Gorge is very very deep, and the bridge is the oldest and highest suspension bridge still in operation to this day. (As far as I know) You cannot fly underneath of it, at least not a few hundred feet below the bridge, it collides with an object and you die. I am going to try flying lower, and lower into the Canyon to see if I can pass under the bridge, but this Canyon is deep and if I fly too low in my Cessna 152 I will not have the power to climb out of the Gorge if it becomes too difficult to navigate through. I hope they fix this problem with bridges, because, in real life, there are two different tours you can take where they actually fly you underneath of the bridge. One in a helicopter and another in a small plane. Its a real thing!!!
So I did another flight test from EWR to LGA via Statue of Liberty, Governor’s Island and under the Brooklyn Bridge and I’m seeing the same conditions as before - still hitting an invisible wall where none should be.
All of us stunt pilots still need to cheat for something that should really be a true test of skill =/
best way is - when collision/crash is disabled all 3d objects have to be gone, that’s will best way for start of course, after they can improve bridges models, and for sure, when disabled 3d objects, and stay only textures, roofs and high helipads have to stay, as landing on the roof same cool as flight under bridges, and first of all this will very high relaxed cpu factor, if disable crash will disabled all 3d objects exclude roofs only, and when i say roofs i doesn’t mean only horizontal - all of them that’s way cpu will not count tons of useless information(if crashes disabled in any way), trees yet without flesh, same can be for other structures
Hi,
i have this issue since day one.
Yes it is not life threatening but it makes some fun to fly unter bridges.
Is there any solution or is Asobo working on this issue?
BR
Use the Citation. Two advantages: At that speed if you crash you won’t have time to feel pain, and you will have the power to pull out of the gorge if things don’t go south.
Fix bugs under the bridges. Be able to go under the bridges
yes, noticed this too, hopefully something they are already working on.
I tried to fly up the Niagara River under the bridge but the plane crashed despite me not being near to touching the bridge. Are bridges modelled as solid objects underneath so we can’t fly under them?
I’ve been able to fly under a couple but yeah most are “solid” unfortunately.
I’ve noticed that too,
Funny but it wasn’t until I tried to fly under a few bridges that I realised how enjoyable it is! Quite disappointing atm but hopefully they will change that one day.
Thanks

To be able to fly under bridges, it has to be scenes, and not photogrammetry, or sattelite images arranged by AI.
