PI recently bought an official Xbox Bluetooth controller from Argos to use for the drone in MSFS2024. After several attempts trying to pair it in Win 11, I found out my motherboard does not support Bluetooth, so I bought a Bluetooth dongle which Win 11 recognised straight away, but still the controller still cant connect with Win 11. I have watched and followed lots of YT vids on how to pair but without success. The thing I have noticed when I go into settings and “Bluetooth & devices” Bluetooth is enabled but it says "Discoverable as “JCC”, but JCC is a previous user name from my last system, but I did just transferred the windows boot drive to this current system, but made a few changes including changing my current username. I am at a loss on how to solve this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking. John. lease add the msfs-2020 or msfs-2024 tag to your post, depending on which sim your post is about.
A things that helped me in the past are;
Make sure your BT dongle has good line of sight to your controller and not too far away (less than 10ft).
Disable any other BT devices. You may be able to enable these later. Also, make sure you have the latest BT drivers.
Try connecting your controller via usb to make sure it can be identified properly.
Otherwise, contact MS support I guess. Good luck mate and cheers.
Thanks for the reply. Win 11 recognises the BT dongle which is plugged in a USB port on the system about 3 feet from the controller. Controller works fine when wired, just not via BT. I think it could be the BT is picking up my old user name, when checking settings it says “Discoverable as JCC”, not my current user name. You maybe right I may have to contact MS support to sort it out. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Thanks for looking. John.
