Can't get past "Checking for Updates" screen

Brief description of the issue: via the MS store, updated to 1.15.7, when restarting the game I’m now getting stuck on the Checking For Updates screen. Recently re-installed the whole game, so it’s pretty much a fresh install, ie: There is nothing in the community folder. Any tips? Thx.
