Cant install windows mixed reality due to usb issue

I was happy today when my reverb g2 arrived. I then tried to set it up and went through the windows reality portal. Everything was good to go except the usb 3+ requirement. I have usb ports on my system with the latest drivers. Nothing I did could allow the headset to be connected. What is the + supposed to mean on 3+?

USB 3.0, 3.1 (they are blue/red colour coded, the 2.0 is black)

USB 3.0 cables facilitate the faster transfer rates of 4.8Gbps as well as the additional power transfer of 900 mA by doubling the amount of wires within the cable from 4 in the 2.0 cables to 8 in the 3.0 cables. USB 2.0 cables transfer data at 480 Mbps and provide power up to 500 mA.

Thanks. My old USB 3 doesn’t work. does 3+ mean that 3.1 is needed. I didn’t realize that 3.1 ports were red.

Just checked the specs requirements and 3.0 (blue) should be enough. So yes, if blue is broken and you have red ones, just go with that as they’re backward compatible

if you are using a amd 550 or 570 motherboard they are working on a known issue with this.

do a search for amd 5 series and usb should give you the info.

:beers:
