Can't reinstall 2024 - "Error 100%" in Xbox app on PC

Last used MSFS in the SU1 beta and left the insider preview as suggested a couple of weeks ago when everything went ■■■■-up. I didn’t actually run it while things were broken.

Trying to reinstall now and just get this error after it appears to have finished downloading…

Have tried joining and leaving the SU2 beta but that doesn’t make any difference. Also tried installing to different drives without any effect.

I guess it’s an Xbox app/MS store problem rather than specifically FS2024, although I’ve installed Atomfall sucessfully enough. The 0x800073cf6 error code throws up a few results showing various long-winded methods of trying to fix it including the nuclear option of reinstalling Windows which I’m absolutely not doing.

Uninstall FS2024.
Re-install Windows 11 via the Windows Update feature.
Install FS2024.

If this doesn’t resolve the problem, then formatting the drives will need to be done.

Have managed to fix this. While attempting to remove all traces of the previous install I found the folder in \AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\SystemAppData\wgs
was locked and couldn’t be removed.

Surprised and slightly embarrassed I hadn’t discovered this sooner. After having to boot into safe mode to delete it, FS24 installed fine again.
