Can't seem to load in around the New York City and KJFK area, but can load in outside the area and fly there

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

This is really weird. I can’t seem to load in south of KJFK, it’s just endlessly loading, waited for around 3 min, but nothing. This also happens directly over manhatten or the bay area.
If I load in way outside the area, it loads in and I can fly towards New York and KJFK without hitches or problems. Even after an overfly, ending the flight and trying to reload in at roughly the same spot, it just loads endlessly. I can hit ESC to return to the world map while it loads. Can anyone test and confirm this to tell me I’m not crazy or something?
Already tried:

• resetting graphic settings
• clearing rolling cache
• clearing other caches and scenery indices

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

1. selecte a startingpoint in KJFK or New York area, use “fly now” from the dropdown ( see screenshots below)

2. game loads endlessly, even after stopping downloads of assets. It just does not continue.

3. hit ESC to return to world map

4. go to a place couple of dozend miles outside the New York area, use “fly now”

5. game loads in without hitches in under 2 min.

Same here at EKCH. Stuck loading forever, it seems that dreaded bug is back…. It loaded in instantly at EKAH though. Maybe related to photogrammetry? EKCH has surrounding photogrammetry, EKAH does not have it close to the airport, only some kms away where its not loaded. Just a thought, haven’t fully tested that.

Sounds like an incompatible 3rd party add on. Drzewiecki Designs Paine Field prevent me from loading in the northern Seattle area. Since I deactivated it everything loads fine. Finding the source was a hassle though.

I don’t have any specific addons/marketplace items for that area, but I just tried to deactivate zinerteks enhanced airport graphics and the cityupdate usa 2, made no difference.
I run vanilla, besides the stuff from marketplace.

Ive noticed that some update where available like animals, photogrammetry some airports, but beside animals the others would download but not install so these failed even after retry.
So i guess i try it tomorrow or so. to see if its fixed.
Turn photogrammetry off and back on gave me back niagara falls and surrounding.

Interresting. When I deactivate photogrammetry, it loads in but gets locked up in this screen, noCTD, just hang.
This is even before the yellow “ready to fly” button appears:

Try to click on the taskbar and then back on the sim maybe it recovers
It took a long time to load but something like doing it this way it helps with me so hopefully for you to.

It now also didn’t work with photogrammetry off:

what worked was to zoom in all the way after hitting ESC, and select “fly now” again:

Any addon, even an aircraft, marketplace or other can cause a mod conflict resulting in the sim not loading, or loading improperly.

Funny, I just went in my library and tried to disable everything. Like litterally select all, then disable. Had some interesting side effects:

Restarted the sim and menu looked normal again.
It also didn’t really disabled everything, even from the world updates, it kept the challenges and discovery flights.

Then tried to load in with photogrammetry enabled, and lo and behold it worked. But JFK didn’t look like himself anymore:

Now to find out which of the around 600 disabled library content items lead to the issue, fun times.

That’s not really feasable to be honest, seriously.

Turning off photogrammetry makes it load in instantly for me at EKCH. Doubt its the scenery, seems linked to photogrammetry for sure… Re enabling photogrammetry once loaded in takes forever to apply; its just spinning forever. Had to quit the sim from task manager.

The only way i have been able to get to EKCH with photogrammetry ON was to spawn at EKAH, then TP with the devmenu to EKCH.

This is really frustrating.
Yesterday I started enabling my content batch by batch again, with testing if I could load in at JFK or EKCH. I quickly found that EKCH not loading, was City Update V for some reason, I could reliably not load in when it was enabled.
Couldn’t find the culprit for JFK yet.

Then today I continued, but to my surprise, I couldn’t reproduce EKCH not loading with CU V enabled this time, it loaded in fine.
In fact, I couldn’t reproduce the problem at all anymore, even with all my content enabled again.
I count it under inconsitencies on the server side that got figured out, maybe.

Also had one hang during activating 1 content, but after restart worked again. And one time my avionics stoped beeing on and couldn’t be activated after a load into the flight. As well as the ui panels like weather etc. from the top bar had no content when activated. But this also worked again after a restart of the sim.

I tried multiple times today to load into EKCH with 1.6.5.0 with no success. Rolled back to SU3, same settings, addons and everything, and it loaded in first time. Something broke it in SU4.

i had the same with trying to load EKCH in the 1.6.5.0 last night. thought it was the flytampa scenery at first, but that didnt make any difference. photogrammetry disable is indeed the one thing that made the airport load in. was able to enable flytampa’s airport again with that as well. There’s definitely something wrong with the pg there
