I noticed that as well (see here: Free castoring nose wheel after SU6)
The NGX mod (DA40-NGX Improvement Mod (v0.13, 05 JAN 25, FS24 compatible)) defaults to a steerable nose wheel, so that’s a workaround for the NG at least.
