I’ve been flying all day when suddenly I can’t get use my game any more. My internet connection is fine, so why does this happen and why do I require an internet connection to play single-player flight sim?
Also, there is no "quit to desktop’ button when this happens, so the only way to close the game is to force it closed. What’s the deal?
It says right there in the error message, access to the content service is temporarily unavailable.
Don’t tell me you have never encountered a website on the Internet that is temporarily unavailable? You know these things happen and are inevitable with a cloud-based game, right?
I’m having the same thing here right now (France) so it appears you’re not alone and it’s not coming from you. I guess it’ll be back quick as it’s usually the case for things like this
I’ve encountered many websites that are unavailable, but it has never stopped me from using a certain program before. The bigger question is “Why is our sim held hostage from us because MS web services are down?”
Just because the content service is unavailable, why can’t I play regardless? I don’t need the streaming graphics. I’ll play without it.
Because that’s the way it’s designed. Weather requires online data; ortho requires online data; atc requires online data; probably many other services do to. That’s their business model. This has happened before; This will happen again.
