Watched a Twitch streamer fly this yesterday. The price-quality ratio on this is just amazing. The texturing is a bit last-gen, but all systems seem to work. Even the store/recall function in the radios work. Windshield effects are impremented. Flies nice. Recommended!
Thanks. The plane is very good value for money but the interior textures are really not up to today’s standards. Maybe something can be done about that.
I agree the interior isn’t great but there’s nothing there that stops me from flying it and it is really great to fly and surprisingly well equipped (there’s features on the avionics I haven’t seen in any other MSFS plane yet).
So for the money I think it’s a no brainer.
Someone in the thread discussing the plane being released was comparing it to the cheap rubbish we often see being released on SimMarket (and the Marketplace) but IMO this is nothing like.
This is a module the creator genuinely cares about and to me it shows.
And as I said elsewhere if we all buy a copy or two maybe the dev will have the time and money to give the cockpit an overhaul
Yeah, I love this plane. It’s very satisfying.
Right you are. Already playing around with the textures a little, but the only thing that would make it better is completely redoing the seat textures and several other parts.
However I changed the cockpit from beige to grey and also changed the top of the cockpit panel to a dark grey so that the reflections are not that bad. It’s facinating that it works like in real life: the bright beige or grey panel top reflects into the windscreen and as soon as I make it darker the reflections almost go away.
I left the one livery with the beige interior as it is and kept the beige interior including the reflections.
Will upload it later with new cameras to flightsim.to.
She really shows her glider origins on approach, you have to properly work the spoiler to dump enough lift to get down comfortably - definitely a control to put on an axis if you can
I think this is a solid product and quite fun to fly. It’s the ideal thing for harassing other players flying anything piston: fast enough to catch them quickly, slow enough to stay with them, and maneuverable enough to fly rolls around them. Just remember, this is a VFR-only plane so can’t (legally) use all its performance, has neither de-ice nor a glideslope indicator, and can’t carry very much. Still, for zooming around in fair weather (day or night), it’s a blast.
I do notice a few annoyances, however.:
#1. In common with several other non-marketplace 3rd party planes, since SU5 (1.18.x), the direction of the elevator trim AXIS (not the buttons) is reversed compared to all stock and marketplace planes. This is easy to fix with a few clicks in the control options (and isn’t a problem at all if you don’t use an axis for elevator trim) , but then you have to remember to switch things back when you fly something else.
#2. This plane DOES NOT like crosswinds AT ALL. When on the ground at high speed (just before rotation or just after touchdown), the thing is squirrelly as all get-out. This can be blamed, in part, on the short wheelbase and narrow track of the landing gear. However, I think it’s a bit extreme, especially given the POH demonstrated crosswind tolerance of 18 knots while the squirrelliness happens at much lower crosswind components. Second, this carries over into flight, requiring massive aileron trim (and retrimming if you make a major en-route turn) to fly even reasonably hands-off for just long enough to take a sip from your adult beverage.
But in general, I really enjoy flying this plane. Looks good, sounds good, pretty well matches the included POH, and has the performance of an early WW2 fighter while still carrying your significant other and a picnic basket.
