  1. happened in a Medevac mission, failed to get new destination (didn’t skip anything, PC-24)
  2. happened in Passenger transport, couldn’t contact arrival ATC (did Skip to Descent, 737 max 8)

Waited and Waited for a reroute but none came and then I got this at the end (text says “Xin will be treated at [Error: no reroute airport]”:

I do have a video of the whole thing, including issues with the airport name both the MSFS offline Flight Planner and SimBrief:

737 Passenger mission at arrival airport (after skip to descent), Tower is 118.9, I’m on 118.9, it says “Press to contact tower via ATC” but that doesn’t work, the options aren’t there in Communications either:

• I think the Medivac mission is never fixed, even before the SU2. I couldn’t reroute even manually

Latest update totally borked career mode. Not able to finish anything without losing massive reputation (if able to complete at all). Just tried a simple c172 cargo flight and had to skip to takeoff; then it said, “takeoff.” no options to do anything in the ATC menu except get atis or switch to ground. Decided to take off and was immediately dinged for taking off w/o clearance. The latest update is a regression for career. Please let us know when it’s worth trying again.

They need to completely turn off the ATC in the career

I want the ATC stuff, I want even MORE ATC – I just want it to work and ideally work well – but yeah, if you can’t make it work then don’t make it mandatory for now. I’d love voice-to-text capability too, rather than having to pick options from a menu (like with BeyondATC/etc).

How hard could it possibly be to say “if plane.inside(destinationAirportBounds) then MOVE ON TO COMPLETE THE MISSION”. Ok, maybe you didn’t do some other steps but once you are AT the destination airport it needs to move forward. Because this is a big and common failure mode right now.

Likewise if there is a mission step to do XYZ with ATC and you hit enter it NEEDS TO MOVE FORWARD (or maybe inform the user what it needs) no matter what else is going on. It will just get stuck right now.

And then there are some cases where it will ding you for things you “missed” that never happened (mostly arrival at the destination, I think often related to skip to descent).

It’s just a complete disaster right now in SU2, half the time I cannot even see the correct options in the Comms menus, sometimes I can guess them, sometimes they just completely don’t work.

And what’s more frustrating is that Career was supposedly the most used mode and they don’t seem to be paying it much attention. At least they did add some mission filters and I definitely wanted mission filters but I want the horrible, game crushing, absolute disasters fixed first. And the bugs don’t seem to be all that complex – if nothing else loosen the criteria until you can fix them correctly.

I so agree and also feel the anger after every mission that fails because of broken game play.

This was today in medevac.
Atc does not respect your file plan multiple times and offers you a grass runway with my pc-24. Before landing no contact with atc or ground and mission aborted because its does not end.

A good medevac mission failed because after landing and stopping at the designated spot there is no way to end mission. Atc gives me an take off clearance instead of shut down.

Dinged for prohibit airspace before the walk arround

Got an mission offered that let me land on a small strip in the pitch dark. No runway at all.

And this is just the tip of the iceberg…

Career mode is like russian roullete. I dont care about xp points or reputation but this is so frustrating. Its almost impossible to get 100% because there is no feedback

to add - ATS cancels IFR when in IFR conditions and arrival airport is IFR.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
Can no longer respond to some ATC prompts flying career mode missions, I press the button to respond, but nothing happens. This is intermittent. Tried switching between controller and keyboard, made no difference.

Did you experience this issue before you joined the Beta?
Issue seems to only have started happening in the latest version of the beta.

No mods.

This has been a fairly consistent issue for me since the day I started 2024 back in November. It regularly occurs for me every second or third flight. I have noticed that it doesn’t happen in my SAR helicopter missions, but it does with the VIP, cargo and passenger missions. When it doesn’t work it won’t matter if I am hitting enter on the keyboard or a control binding button, it won’t work. Occasionally if I open the ATC window, I can get it to move past where it is stuck, but that is never guaranteed.

I had a similar issue yesterday in a ferry flight mission. I contacted ATC after climbing to cruise and asked for flight following. The mission then prompted me to contact approach and no matter what I tried I couldn’t respond with any key press or assigned controller button. I could tune to ATIS and hear that, but tuning to the tower freq didn’t change anything. The mission completed ok once I was on final but I didn’t get any more prompts to contact any controller until I left the runway and stopped at the hold.

I have issues contacting ATC on any long haul flights. Anything above about 6 hours of flight time and I cannot respond with the quick reply or going through the ATC chat menu. It doesn’t work, I get hit for landing on an undesignated runway, entering taxiway without contact, etc. What makes it worse is I’ll lose an entire rank of reputation for this sort of thing while a 100% full S bar only gives me a tiny upgrade to reputation. It hurts the already difficult income.

It will intermittently happen for me on random flights at random times, but on the shorter flights I can generally find the response by digging through the ATC chat menu.

• It happens to me constantly. In any mission. i keep pushing the quick response and nothing.

• I have the shortcut in the joke, and in the keyboard in more than one button and nothing. even if I restart the mission it happens again.

@Chewwy94 can we get this thread merged with Career ATC is buggy and will get ‘stuck’ and get a bug logged pleased.

Needs fixing before go-live IMO.

That would be up to the test team - you would first see feedback-logged , then bug-logged if they were able to replicate the issue.

We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged.
