I’ve tried out a bunch of these add-ons. FWIW, you can fly anything you want in Neofly, including 3rd party planes. You simply add the information about the plane to the list of available planes in Neofly, and then when you search for available planes that you can “purchase”, your newly added plane will show up randomly at different airports for purchase (if that makes sense).
For a free add-on, Neofly is pretty impressive if you’re mostly interested in single-player GA type aircraft. It’s not setup as well for airliners though.
I want to play the role of the pilot only. I don’t want to have to manage the company or assign flights or pick them.
I want my flights assigned to me every “day I come for work.”
I want to choose the aircraft I want to be in or have several the company would rotate me on depending on the job, etc.
Wear n tear on my plane.
I want a slim chance of failures in sim in my plane.
If I crash, I want to know the condition of the plane and any pax on board. (FSPassengers does this and I miss it.)
I had been using OnAir and I crashed my plane on landing and all I had to do was just restart the flight. I still had my plane and all was good. FSE does this as well but I could just sell it back to the system…maybe I could’ve done that with OA?
Currently I’m back on FSE and using that. Why? I love the human interaction. I belong to a strong MSFS mp group and we formed our own Groupon FSE so I’ve been trying to fly and support them. I enjoy that.
What I’m looking for is something like old good FSCaptain. I’ve started with FSpassanger, long time ago, played through AH and AH2, FSCaptain and tried NeoFly, ONAir, FSCharter…
The one that i curently like the most is OnAir. Playing it for almost 2 years. Is the most feature complete. But still missing FSCaptain type .
Is there any Career addon which can be used offline, without connecting to the simulator ?
It would be done just completing the flight manually (under your responsability to cheat it).
I miss this feature to use a mix of simulators, including those without connection capabilities (as Aerofly).
I must say aviatife is the most detailed career addon i have used. Thanx for letting me know about it. Earning reputation in every single country. Let’s say if you focus your flights in one country you build up reputation in that country and that will effect how many that will visit you rented buildings at those airports you rent buildings in. Can buy goods from other airlines and stuff. It’s so detailed. Much to learn about it still

I really hope that will get more popular. It really deserves it.
There’s also a newcomer named Newsky out there – also free. I think the devs are out of Poland.
It says that it’s a virtual airlines app, but you can use it as a career simulator as well. It’s very lightweight - clean interface that’s simple to figure out. The cons are that it’s a do-it-yourself model; you aren’t assigned routes to fly (unless your VA assigns you routes), and it has a limited set of aircraft that you can use with it (mostly tubejets). But if you just want to fly a jetliner between random cities as the mood strikes you, and want some sort of evaluation/progress recorded without getting too involved, it’s a good free option. (I’ve been using it when I feel like flying routes/planes that aren’t a part of my APL career.)
