“Charter service - private” missions are not populating since evening 31. December 2025. VIP missions and other types are still available though.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

All the time, no missions to be seen, even with filters.

Zooming and panning does not yield any different results, the missions are not present.

I experienced the same bug. Since early evening eastern time, 12/31/2025, I can no longer access charter missions in freelancer mode. Here are the details:

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

For me, neither “Charter service - private” nor “Charter service - VIP” missions are populating in freelancer mode since mid evening, eastern standard time, 12/31/2025. By contrast, in employee mode, only “Charter service - VIP” missions are populating.

A description of my career state:

–Level: 105

– Reputation level: S

– Certifications: all airplane certifications except “heavy airliner rating” and “scoop endorsement”

– Specializations: 12 airplane specifications, including cargo light, cargo medium, charter - private, and charter - VIP. (I also have first, ferry, flightseeing, skydrive, aerial advertising, search & rescue, medevac, and passenger transport - airline.)

– Companies: I have two companies, each with a single aircraft. I have a cargo company with a Cessna 172 - Skyhawk. I have a charter company with a Cirrus Vision Jet G2. Both companies earn passive income.

With this career configuration, here is what I see:

– in “employee” mode: the only charter missions visible are “Charter Service - VIP.” All other mission types for each of my specializations are visible.

– in “freelancer” mode: only light cargo missions are available.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

As noted above, both the cargo company and the charter company still earn passive income.

I first purchased the charter company yesterday afternoon, 12/31/2025; and I bought the Cirrus Vision Jet as the sole plane in that company. Immediately after purchasing the Vision Jet, I could see “Charter mission - VIP” missions in freelancer mode. Then, in the middle of the evening, eastern time (around 0:00 UTC), all of the “charter - VIP” missions disappeared from freelancer mode. Now, the only missions I can see in freelancer mode are “cargo transport -light” missions.

Career Mode – Passenger Missions Not Spawning (Progression Blocker to Airline/ATP)

Platform: PS5

Sim Version: MSFS 2024

Game Mode: Career Mode

Description of the Issue

I am currently blocked from progressing to Airline Passenger / Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) missions in Career Mode because passenger missions are not spawning reliably, and Passenger Charter missions are the only available passenger mission type.

Because of this, I cannot complete the required number of passenger missions with an A grade or higher to unlock Airline missions.

Current Progression State

• Passenger Charter missions are the only passenger missions available

• I have completed 10 out of 15 required passenger missions

• Additional Passenger Charter missions do not appear

• Airline Passenger missions remain locked

• Progression toward Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) is blocked

What I Expect to Happen

• Passenger Charter missions should consistently populate so I can complete the required 15 missions
  OR

• An alternative passenger progression path should be available if passenger missions fail to spawn

What Actually Happens

• Passenger Charter missions frequently do not appear

• Only Charter Ferry, Cargo, or other non-passenger missions spawn

• No additional passenger missions are available to complete the requirement

• Career progression becomes blocked at 10/15 passenger missions

Steps Already Taken

• Checked multiple regional and major airports

• Verified mission filters are set correctly

• Restarted the simulator and career session

• Confirmed I am not missing certifications or licenses

• Continued flying other careers, but those do not count toward passenger progression

Airports Tested

• Regional airports

• Major hubs (LAS, DTW, FRA)

• Charter-heavy airports

Result is the same at all locations: no passenger missions spawning.

Additional Notes

• This is not a grading issue — I cannot earn A or higher grades because there are not enough passenger missions available

• Other mission types populate and function normally

• This appears to be a Career Mode mission spawn / progression blocker

Impact

This issue prevents normal Career Mode progression and makes it impossible to unlock Airline Passenger and Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) missions.

As far as I can tell there aren’t any new missions spawning whatsoever. I don’t get cargo missions or anything either. Once you finish them there are no more. I currently have no missions available at all under freelance.

This happened last year and the cause was there were no events for VIP travel in the new year.

Might have to wait until they get back from holidays

This happened to me after as well. I’m on xbox x but the only thing that worked was restarting carrer. I actually recommend restarting it after the SU4 update. I’ve have very minimal issues with carrer since the update and restarting it. Most of the issues have been my fault and not the Sims. Also I’ve notice how most people only have the areas around the first mission for each specialized carrer type. Quit this. Move around more. Do more mission types to unlock more area once you land in the new airport. I always have every mission type available year round since I have all of western Canada and the USA unlocked

All good suggestions. That said: 1) I started my current career after SU4; 2) I play a wide variety of mission types in employee mode; 3) I have unlocked large areas of Europe, Africa, North America, and Japan/Korea; 4) I was able to access charter-VIP missions in freelance mode until 7 p.m. eastern time last night (midnight UTC) but not since, despite trying out all the suggestions I have seen online, including yours; and 5) a quick glance at this forum indicates that many, many other people have had exactly the same experience.

So I am concluding that this is a bug, related to the arrival of the new year, as it was a year ago.

I vaguely remembered that it happened around new year 2025 but wasn’t sure, I just was sure that isn’t the first time.. but now that Kulch sais the same confirms it for me. Excited to see if it happens next year too

I am still seeing no Charter Service - Private. Have not seen any now since yesterday. I have tried reloading MSFS 2024 a few times. Have tried zooming in and still nothing.

It seems that the freelance firefighting missions are affected too, if I’m not wrong.

Did the license yesterday and founded a company but nowhere, even in Australia, freelance firefighting missions are available.

Same here. I bought a used Cessna 172 but it’s still in the hangar due to lack of activities… I created the company VIP Charter Services but the only mission available as freelance (which by the way do not use my plane) were one as medical transport and one for agriculture with 5 stars difficulty… first thing I don’t understand is why these missions are there as freelance and second thing is why no missions related to the new company created

I would even add that it’s also the case for the medium transport mission, I have few left and it seems to not populate anymore.

If you have multiple planes, you can set assign pilot to on and at least still make passive income

I think Microsoft should issue credits to impacted users. I purchased this software to use during the holiday break and will have had this issue for a minimum of five days where I am off work. This is a lot of lost progress. Not normally a big deal, but pair it with the fact that they encountered this exact problem on other platforms last year along with not clearly stating that the listener feature for keyboard bindings doesn’t work on PS5 (it may be a Sony correction but MS hasn’t been upfront about the limitation) and I would consider this a poor launch.
