I started my career in the Caribbean and while flying over Dominican Republic I am getting penalized for “Aircraft entered prohibited Airspace” happens while flying IFR or VFR
anyone else having this issue, any way to avoid?

Interesting to see that such ATC functionality has been implemented in the career mode. I am wondering if in free flight you also get this type of message. It is does not exist in msfs-2020 .
Ahh nice, I will check this out.. Thanks!
Yeah I had 3 yesterday flying over Syria, Lebanon and into Israel on a Career Mode freelance mission. I should have expected it to be honest
but didn’t expect to be penalised for it as the flight plan was set for me.
I’m pleased that it applies as it does enhance the realism but it’s a bit cheeky that the sim doesn’t warn you that you need to take this into account. The prohibited airspace over southern Lebanon/ Northern Israel is Ground to Unlimited. Also I was sent to land in Jerusalem and it seems impossible to land there without flying into prohibited space. Add that to a flaps overspeed and my bonus was pretty much nowt. If I remember rightly this was a 3 star difficulty, so maybe I’m expected to turn off the transponder and fly in under the radar or summat. ![]()
Joe do you get all those opputunities om the EFB? I have only 4
I did a career mission earlier and flew from an airport that was in a prohibited airspace. I ended up with 6 penalties and got zero bonus. Not sure if there were other airspaces I flew through but the departure airport was definitely one of them. Maybe I cancelled IFR early, can’t remember now, but is the sim clever enough to punish me for this on a career mission? If so I humbly accept my punishment but I’d like to know for sure. If it does then it would be a plus point as it would be greater realism which should be applauded. Should I have requested flight following, would that have prevented me from getting penalised? That said, I didn’t think you could fly through prohibited airspace whether you speak to ATC or not. Shame none of this is explained anywhere.
IFR flight following doesn’t help. I have been penalized many times while flying IFR at 35,000 feet. ATC doesn’t care if you enter prohibited airspace and I didn’t find how to avoid it without external sources. And there are plenty zones, not only Dominican Republic.
Some penalties are really ridiculous. For example I was penalized many times for taxi speeding while flying at 10,000-20,000ft altitude ![]()
I’ve used a Navigraph and LittleNavMap to avoid prohibited space in the past but when the departure or destination airport is in prohibited airspace then it seems there’s nothing you can do about it. I like the idea that these airspace restrictions aren’t just ignorable and that you should be aware of where you’re flying but being penalised for this is nonsense. Obviously in free flight it’s up to you if you want to stick to the rules but in career mode where they’re obviously enforcing it they need to at least give you a chance. And telling us what the rules are would be helpful too.
So, with the default tab in MSFS2024, How do I see the prohibited airspaces?
I am currently flying a default mission in the 737 and the flightplan included in the mission took me through prohibited airspace. Thats annoying
I just got hit with this as an infraction, but there is no way to see it? How can you add a penalty that is impossible to see, impossible to avoid, makes no sense.
IFR flight following, said nothing, half baked.
I had a mission that originated in the Dominican, and as SOON as my wheels left the tarmac I was dinged with the prohibited airspace. I wasn’t even mad, I just laughed ![]()
