Career mode missions spawns need to be reworked

Noticed aswell that some runways that is set for landings doesn’t even exist. Which is pretty annoying.

Yup months and months later and none of these points have been addressed. When you consider Microsoft were so hyped up about promoting career mode, it is nothing but a massive disappointment 6 months after release. Abyssmal fail.

I fly mainly Australia and NZ. The only missions that are even worth flying are medium cargo runs, which just repeat the same missions over and over. The crop spraying missions are fun though but take 20-30 passes to complete and even they get tedious. And dont get me started over the hoist missions and rescue missions which bug out, impossible. Dudes just hover next to the victims and never rescue them, or you have to try and land on the side of a sheer cliff.

I began a career in the center of France. I passed the commercial flight exam yesterday near Los Angeles and then the first 2 mission I get are in Italy and in Germany !!!
Mission spawn system has to be completely reviewed, it is a non sense to give mission thousand miles away from our base !
MS/Asobo, please take the point, the career feature was the game changer point of MSFS24 and it has a very big potential but it is very badly designed. We need big udpates for career mode… soon.
PLEASE VOTE.

I can’t believe this is still an issue. I just ran into this thread after experiencing running out of medium cargo missions.

Please paste a picture of your world map with the position of your current aircraft and yourself.

Have you opened up the map next to where you have landed?

In order to increase the amount of missions cargo or otherwise, is to open up the map. Wherever your current or last spot you ,anded you will see on the mission world map a highlighted circle at which you are in the centre of. Go outside that circle about an equal radius from where you are to the edge of the circle, scroll in and select an airport. Click on “Fast travel” and pay the fee and it will open up a whole new list of missions. Continue to do this in the areas closest to you and you will almost never run out of a mission to do. Also, many of the missions return in a few days.

You can also click on an airport and highlight the “Missions List” which usually contain loads of them. Basiclly you should never run out of cargo missions unless you are in one of the DA 62’s or Beech G58 which only have a few in an area of the US or central EU.

Seconded on this. I cannot think of a worse way to design missions than is currently implemented into the game. It is always just the same missions repeated. For everything. VIP flights should be far, far more common than they are. And not only flying to mountains (either US or Europe). There are so many reasons people would take such a flight, and so many places people would take them.

Actually random generation of missions would be a good start. Having them distributed around the world properly. Right now it is clear that this seasonal area of interest does not work at all. Missions are always in the same region, all year. No VIP in Australia? South Africa? None around LA? Everything going to Bear Mountain in Cali? It is really quite unacceptable. It is almost as if someone designed something to actively encourage people not to play.

Given that things such as OnAir Company do career mode much better (but I am not super happy to pay a subscription), it should be possible to make this a more enjoyable experience. I think more routes alone would be a good thing that keeps people happy.

This definitely needs more attention

Currently in beta and flying long haul 747, i finding it increasingly difficult to fly where I want to fly

Example I flew out of Australia to singapore and I wanted to return to Australia from singapore. In the real world this is easy at least 4 flight daily just to Sydney. In the sim nothing, no flights from changi to the entire continent of Australia. What is this? I tried KL and Jakarta no luck either. Next day I found a flight to perth, but really I should see almost every Australian city within reach of Singapore and the 747 there. I’m afraid if I fly further away the Australia flight will get even harder to find. What algorithm is this? Australia and NZ purely from there geographical location are long haul magnets, from every major Asian hub daily flights to most cities. From Dubai, from USA, from Santiago and Joburg.

They need to dial in the destinations and provide real word like flights, imagine from Bangkok there are only 15 destinations? That’s what it’s like in the sim, don’t even get me started on VIP flights there is almost nothing

Agreed. I mainly fly in Europe and VIP missions seem to appear just around the Alps and some West-European places. I think it would be nice to set a preference for which type of flights you’d like so it just shows the preferred options in the unlocked areas.

There are a lot of resources that can be used to design more realistic mission airport pairings. Asking various types of pilots from various regions would be a good start. At least that would avoid the Bear Valley debacle when Mammoth Lakes and Truckee are much better choices. It wouldn’t be hard to get quick and accurate info on that by leaning on pilots, FBOs, industry groups, maybe leveraging ADS-B, or simply looking at a Bing Aerial to see where all the bizjets are parked. This versus simply throwing a destination at a ski resort, regardless of the viability of the nearest “airport.”

Same goes for medevac. And it’s likely going to vary by region, so… ask pilots from those regions how it works. Way too much global application being broadly applied in lots of categories, IMO.

However, on another hand it’s nice to get some use out of airports that otherwise see little real-world use - varies the game up in that regard. I wouldn’t want to see anything be entirely disused, but instead maybe be used more properly - Bear Valley would be a good STOLport for scenic bush trips (which should be a career mode option). Most private strips in the Midwest US are used for aerial application, things like that. Just ask a few people in the industry - there are a ton of people who would love to help.

I once again ask for firefighting missions in Sweden. Yes, its up north but we have vast areas of woodland and even bought firebombers just because our helicopters were not enough.
