I’m creating this topic to discuss the spawning of missions in Career Mode.
I currently have two companies (VIP and cargo) and have unlocked a lot of areas in Career Mode. However, about 90% of the missions that appear are cargo missions. VIP missions seem to be limited to just a few specific locations worldwide, and they never seem to spawn in places like Brazil or Australia.
Another issue is the repetition of missions. The same departure and destination locations show up repeatedly, which makes the experience feel less dynamic.
I understand that Career Mode has a feature for mission hotspots, but it seems unrealistic that countries like Brazil or Australia wouldn’t have at least one VIP mission available at any time.
Could we please get a rework of the mission generation system? It would be great to see more variety in departure points, destinations, and countries.

Here is a few screenshots to prove my point, and just to be clear it doesen’t matter if i zoom it more, i can’t find a single VIP mission in these locations.
Seconded. This is particularly bad in Sweden where I get the same Search and Rescue mission over and over to the point that the person I am supposed to rescue is in the same spot. Why no aerial search and rescue over the forests?
Also allow us to disable the season so we can get firefighting missions. I want to fly over Sweden in my career, the entire drawing point for me is that I want to be able to do stuff where I live, areas I know or my viewers know.
Medical Flights make little sense. Why am I flying a non-critical citizen out of the country for recovery?
I’m struggling to find helicopter search & rescue missions, with only 1 visible globally at the moment and the victim for that is so deeply embedded in trees, that it is impossible to land within a distance that would be registered.
I’ve recently done a reinstall of FS2024 and that resulted in a load of helo S&R missions, but it looks like they are strictly time limited, to perhaps less than a day, not unreasonably, as they very quickly disappeared and were not replaced.
It does look like there is a maximum total number of all missions and that appears to be getting used up by the other missions, maybe due to their longer shelf life?
Either way, I’d support the OP’s wish for the way that missions spawn to be reviewed and hopefully made to generate a fair share for all mission types.
I agree… VIP missions are only spawning in the Germany / Italy regions. Also, some of these are ridiculously impossible… ex: land at LIVI (seems to be a MSFS airport only) a 2k ft strip graded upward on a mountain top in a Cessna 404. Or sending me to an airport with a 2k ft strip and no Instrument approaches in a Vision Jet in heavy IFR conditions and a 32kt crosswind.

All types of missions should spawn everywhere, forget this seasonal hot spot stuff except for fire fighting. VIP 24/7 everywhere global. Cargo 24/7 everywhere global.
Seconded. My cargo company has been happily operating in NZ and then my new VIP company wants a plane in Europe. 145,000 credits to get it there.
Needless to say my new vision jet is being flown by a passive crew cos I can’t be bothered flying Qantas across the entire planet commuting from one company to another.

I bought a Vision Jet to have stationed in Australia which is supposedly a hotspot for that in winter. So far ZERO VIP-missions and I have unlocked half of Austrailia.
Missions in Europe often try to kill you. Like flying VIP to a 240 m runway in the mountains. Most medium cargo missions go into mountain areas to very small fields. Second on the comment for Sweden. I live in Sweden and would love to fly more missions there and in the Nordics.
I agree with VIP missions being very limited. I only have them in Central/West Europe and they are the same spawning again and again. It would be nice to have them all over the world for a change.
For SAR mission it is a bug: Career Mode - H125 - No Search and Rescue Missions
They appear and disappear. Sometimes I have heaps in the alps and hoist SAR in the coasts, but sometimes nothing.
I think a bit of leniency would be nice in terms of hotspots and just let us fly VIP missions in any part of the world. I agree with Firefighting and SAR needs to be related to certain areas (forests, mountains).
man I need this topic to get more upvotes because holy ■■■■ I spend so much money just moving my pilot around to different areas, just to find no missions at all! Then when you do eventually find another job, or want to move somewhere with better weather or different time of day (because the live weather 24 hour thing seems to not work and it just puts you back in time to august 2022 or something), it can cost 20-70k to move your plane on top of all the money you spent just finding the ■■■■ mission!
Also, the hot spots for missions are complete ■■■■! Its winter and you’re telling me there are a bunch of VIP missions in the middle of Greenland? Doubt it.
Sorry for the rant, I’m just really irritated right now because of this exact thing.

I’ve voted, but I think it’ll get fixed either way, as it certainly doesn’t appear to be right atm. Hopefully, they’ve parameterised it, so it shouldn’t take too much time to fix.
I’m fairly certain the missions are not randomly generated, but instead fetched from a pre-genned list; I’ve seen the exact same mission, payout plane and route, show up today after I’ve done it yesterday.
Obviously this approach did not avoid the problems with extremely difficult/impossible assignments, so I hope this gets reworked somewhere down the line. Maybe a system that takes into consideration aircraft range and weight (for landing distances)?
No, they are not random. But that’s ok as far as for Cargo or other regular flights.
But for SAR missions this is a no go. Search area always in the same place and even the missing person in the exact same spot, but becomes only visible after a predefined timer…
I spent 20.000 credits fast travelling around north Colombia and Venezuela hoping to find charter missions because that is apparently the hot spot during winter. Found nothing. I need to do passenger missions to advance my specializations but can’t find passenger missions. Nothing in either employee or freelance categories, unless medical transport missions count but those are 6 hours long at minimum.
Literally all of them are 6h hours at minimum. I admit I haven’t flown medical missions in real life but surely you would bring them to the closest hospital that can deal with whatever injury they have, THEN they get flown to specialized care if they need it.
Are the seasons of the hotspots based on any hemisphere? As in: if it says winter, does that mean around January in the northern hemisphere and around July in the southern?
