Career + Vatsim merged flights

Hi simmers!

i wanted to share with you thought on how to deal with Career (which I love) and Vatsim flights.

  1. I use (if operative on the aricraft) the COM 2 for Vatsim so that I can keep answering also career atc
  2. I give priority to Vatsim calls
  3. I try to transform in VFR the flight in career if I have controllers on vatsim
  4. I use live time and not historical to not create discrepancy in altimeter, wind and weather

When you have to fly in small airports that usually have not an ICAO code (in career it happens a lot) follow these steps

  1. Use Placeholder Codes: For airports that do not have an ICAO code, you can use the placeholder code “ZZZZ” in the departure or destination field.
  2. Add Remarks: In the remarks section of your flight plan, specify the actual name of the airport or location. For example, you can write “ADEP/YourAirportName” for the departure airport or “ADES/YourAirportName” for the destination airport.

This method ensures that your flight plan is accepted by the VATSIM system even if the airport is not listed2.

Was fun up till the SU2 update. Since then VATSIM planes do not show up in career mode unfortunately.
