Submitted this to Carenado via their Zendesk on September 8th. Have not heard back from them. Not a peep nor even a “hi we know you’re alive.” So I’m posting here in the hope it draws their attention. Carenado, we pay money for this stuff. That includes the support side of the equation too. ”The Garmin transponder on the C182Q for 2020 does not work. Just a black screen or if it does display the screen the buttons do nothing (no blue highlight or mouse hand depending on Lock or Legacy). It appears to be slaved to the TDS even though I was using the WT530/430. When I do select the TDS the Garmin transponder will display the squawk input by the TDS.”
P.S. As an aside on another issue, the main door’s still invisible on the Debonair if opened and viewed from the outside from a certain distance (window still shows though).
I haven’t flown in for awhile, but did a flight a few days ago and it worked fine.
I couldn’t use the 430 at all though, nothing was clickable. The 530 worked fine. I would just get the hand icon over the screen, but nothing would happen over the buttons or knobs. I figured it was one of those things that would work next time I used it, but haven’t tried it since.
Do you have the TDS GTN750Xi installed?

Yep, I’m thinking that’s the reason. Still, no response from Carenado after 10 days. That doesn’t bode well for me buying any more of their aircraft (and I have a slew of ‘em). Their missive in their support/comment request area says it all: “you may not receive a response back” [sic]. What that really means (and I’m putting it politely here verses what I’d say in actuality) is “We don’t care!” “Care” is in their name and “nado” is coincidently just a vowel off from the Spanish word for nothing…nada. Care-Nothing. Kind of says it all. Going to write TDS right now and I will guarantee they’ll respond. They always have almost instantly in the past and they have always found a solution.

So I tried the 182Q again and the 430 still isn’t working. Can’t click any of the buttons or turn any dials. I reinstalled it and still the same. I have some hardware switches and knobs set for it too, through SPAD and they don’t change anything anymore. It’s like the 430 is disabled. This is in 2020. I don’t know if it’s this last update or what.
I tried it again earlier this morning. In my case the GTX330 isn’t working and I’ve also discovered the TDS650xi won’t scroll to the other pages nor can you click to get to the nav freqs by right-clicking the inner button. Looks like the King AP might be screwing up now too. Did you by chance buy it from the Marketplace?

Yeah I bought it in the marketplace. I think I bought it for 2024 and was able to download it in 2020. The one in 2024 works fine, other than the starting issue. I don’t use the 650 very often so don’t know if that’s working or not. I’ll try it next time.
