Carenado Cessna 182Q Startup & Flaps Issues

I bought this new Cessna from Carenado and have problem starting the plane from cold and dark, only CTR+E works. Also flaps have almost no effect on the plane. Looks like not finished and not tested product.

HI, please what platform are you playing on and what, if any, controllers are you using?

I’m on PC, with Alpha and Bravo controls.
Don’t have problems with any other Carenado Cessna planes.

Got it, agree. I can’t start it either, even following the checklist in the EFB. After a Cntl+E start, will make a first flight. Thanks for the heads up.

Title update to reflect what the issues are.

You may not have either primed the engine, or rotated the fuel cutoff valve on the centre console.

Nope, did all that following the checklist. Even checked the oil dipstick outside first. There appears to be a defect starting from cold & dark following the checklist procedure in the EFB.

Hey, disagree about the flaps. The model behaved as expected during a full flap landing. Full flaps generated a lot of drag on short final. Would need more flights to say if the L/D ratio is also as expected, but the flaps are having a definite effect on my PC set-up. Cheers!

I just tried it a few seconds ago, and it starts fine for me.

The default position is straight down in the off position.

Just restarted the flight, and the only thing I did is adjust that know to both.

No priming, no pumping the throttle, just mixture full forward, then turn the key to start.

Weird. Just landed and still in the plane. The engine started again on the apron omitting the prime. Will restart the entire flight to see if cold & dark start fail is recreatable. Thanks

AND IT DID NOT START once again. Weird

If i start with ctrl+e then cut off fuel, then i can start again normaly as it should.

Retard the mixture or turn off the fuel at the valve?

Mixture. But next cold and dark start not work again.

Maybe a dumb question but did you do the walkaround and remove all the covers and the chocks?

No not a dumb question, but yes done that. Even checked the oil with the dipstick. While there was a canopy cover to remove, I did not see air intake covers to remove. As it turns out, if one removes the canopy cover from the starting position astride the Pilot’s door, the intake covers are also removed. Tested this by walking around to the intake side first, then removing them. They are removed together with the canopy cover. This step sequence has no effect on the cold start. Could be there is a trick to the engine priming? Weird.

I found the bug. It is in mixture control. When i use bravo mixture control it will not start, i need to move mixture with mouse and then it will start normaly. After start i can use bravo mixture control normaly.

Ah ha! I was just thinking the same thing about either or both of the Master Switches: I have those (and the Mixture) on a Velocity One Flight. Was going to test switching them on the screen but you just saved me that bit. Weird weird weird car a nado stuff LOL!

Yeah, i hope they fix this.

So what is the Bravo mixture control bound to? And does the Virtual Cockpit mixture lever move when the Bravo physical lever is moved?
