So after messing with this a bit more, start the autopilot with no mode selected, and make sure that you turn on the NAV mode when the CDI shows the GPS heading in a straight line - in other words to start fly it into the correct heading. Then when the CDI is lined up turn on NAV mode and it should stay the way it is. When you get to a turn it should follow it pretty well, but if it starts oscillating, toggle nav mode off and on and it should go back on the new course as long as you are relatively straight. I know that this isnt how it works in real life, but its letting me pretty well use the GPS NAV mode without the whipping back and forth until it get tweaked a bit more.
From the official content menu it wonāt let me buy it. How did you get it
Just completed the 4 hour-ish group flight with Squirrel.
Almost the whole time my avionics were broken. Squirrel himself also had switches randomly switching around, right in front of our eye on stream. Switches clicking manically, Iāve heard, and seen that myself.
I also observed very hard rudder input that was not my own on take off, but again only when a group of people are there. Take off with no one around, and the rudder is fine.
Current working theory seems to be that this is only occurring when you are in a flight with a lot of MP traffic in your immediate vicinity.
I think there is something very wrong with MP at the moment. Either the clients are leaking to other players clients, or someone has found a way to grief MP sessions.
The M20R was fantastic fun though, highly recommended.
I also observer the oscillating AP in NAV mode as well, zig zagging across the track.
Thanks for that. That was what I was looking for. Wanted to turn those back to ānormalā
I also adjusted the āL1ā," L3", āR1ā, āR3ā and āRearā values. I left the āUpā value since this one actually makes sense to me ![]()
Actually pretty straightforward:
QuickView_L1
InitialXyz = 0, -0, -0
InitialPbh = 0, 0, -45
QuickView_L3
InitialXyz = 0, -0, -0
InitialPbh = 0, 0, -132
This oneās not -120. This way you can see farther back onto the port aft stabiliser
QuickView_R1
InitialXyz = 0, -0, -0
InitialPbh = 0, 0, 45
QuickView_R3
InitialXyz = 0, -0, -0
InitialPbh = 0, 0, 120
QuickView_Rear
InitialXyz = 0, -0, -0
InitialPbh = 0, 0, 172
Also not 180 because the cockpit seat is on the left side of the plane
Actually I tried by looking at their forums, but they donāt even have a MSFS section for their addons. Well, I wasnāt surprised.
Does anyone know how to rename the plane without the aircraft.cfg file?
After all itās not a Carenado M20R but a Mooney M20R. ![]()
I suffered also with dead avionics after loading the plane.
After removing the mod DR-400-140b from my Community folder I got all of my Mooney back. Tried several times to load the plane in Cold Dark state and was able to switch on the avionics after starting the engine.
Hope that could help you.
Iām sure Iām missing something simple, but⦠I purchased this today and donāt know howto turn my āMicrosoft Flight Simulator - 120 FlightSim Creditsā into an airplane. Iām an X-Plane flyer, not a gamer or X-Box user, the only time Iāve ever used the Microsoft Store was to buy and install this new MS Flight Simulator. Embarrassed to say Iāve been trying this for hours.
Did you buy the sim on steam?
No. I bought it from Microsoft Store.
Okay. Sorry, I canāt help much then since I bought mine on Steam and dlc uses steam wallet.
I spent well over an hour today trying to buy the Mooney AC dlc without knowing exactly how the procedure was supposed to work. I didnāt even know if my Steam Wallet would be charged or my Credit Card on my Microsoft Account. I didnāt see much information on the Steam site or forums either.
It was pretty frustrating. I hope you soon get it sorted ![]()
Looks good Archer! Thank you! ![]()
I know the feeling. Went through that yesterday. I then found a post here in the forum suggesting to start the game without admin rights via the Win 10 Xbox App and suddenly it worked.
As iāve said I canāt really help you much because I bought the Sim on Steam.
However, it looks like you have the flight credits. Maybe you just have to download the AC ? Maybe in the Content Section where we download the updates?
Wish I could help further.
I bought it yesterday in game in the microsoft store/marketplace. Once I purchased it with paypal it then had a box you click that says āDownloadā and once it downloaded it was in my hangar. For me atleast it was very simple and straightforward.
Problems with the plane, other than the radios turning on and off (mostly off) by themselves which is sim wide, I noticed today that the rudder trim button operates in reverse from the way it should. Click right for left rudder trim, and left for right rudder trim.
Also it is extremely difficult to put the mouse cursor in the right places to do certain things, like click the button to toggle between altitude and VSI input, and turn the key left to test magnetos (which incidentally only seem to lower RPM by 50, but whatever).
Also the fuel computer thing for nm/gal, fuel to dest, reserve fuel etc, doesnāt seem to work correctly at all. The mechanical fuel indicators on the wings donāt seem to work right either. They only go up to 15 and then start going down way before there is 15 gallons in each tank. I actually read that these are only accurate on the ground in the real plane, but they arenāt accurate on the ground or air in MSFS.
The low boost pump is way too loud I think on the inside of the plane, but if you go to external view its EXTREMELY loud for some reason, louder than the engine.
The normal snap views left and right are broken as noted by other people.
I really want to like this plane but MS and Carenado really need to get it together better to fully enjoy anything.
Report all that on the Carenado zendesk
I reported them on the msfs zendesk, it is an official plane so i figured that was applicable. Is there a carenado zendesk?
I have reported these issues to Carenado through their in-house trouble ticket system.
I have also discovered that the HSI affects the OBI To/From indicator, even when the radios are tuned to separate stations. If you change the HSI heading from 63 degrees to 240, for example, the To/From indicator HSI will change as is it should, but so does the To/From indicator on the OBI, even though they are tuned to separate stations.
Yep, go to their website and then support. But I wouldnāt expect them to add features like a working fuel calculator or engine analyzer. They donāt do this stuff, they just fire out great looking aircraft at a high rate, with more or less only standard gauges. Itās their business model, and it has worked for them since FS9. So why should they change that now..
