Carenado Piper Seminole - HSI HDG & CRS are bind-able!

After several days of struggling and no support from Carenado, I’ve got a solution to the apparent lack of bindings for the CRS knob on the HSI.

I also have a ‘fix’ for the bugs jumping 10 degrees with each single button press / wheel turn.

CRS Binding:

Using John Dawson’s great FSUIPC app, the log output shows that the CRS knob in the Seminole is actually in the back end the VOR1_OBI knob. So there are existing bindings and it’s possible to bind to it.

Imagine you’re designing a flight simulator and realize that sometimes the user will hold down a keyboard key or joystick button to make scrolling something faster. Maybe they want to increase their heading bug or their autopilot altitude setting faster so they hold down that key or button. One thing you could do is nothing. Just let them hold down the button and let that input increment up by one repeatedly. That can work. Or you could give the user some help. Maybe you could code in somethin…

If you still want to use your switches, toggles and other buttons, the best (only?) solution is to buy John’s FSUIPC Version 7 app for 30 Euros and rebind all of your axes, buttons, knobs and switches. Thankfully you only have to do this once, and save the profile, but this fixes the above bug that’s been in MSFS since version 9.
