This warrants a video demonstration of said beauty ![]()
Video of unmodded Mi-17 shot today. The addon is at the moment completely broken without community patch, which removes this issue

I just coincidentally also made something for implementing Force Trim in the MSFS but with AxisAndOhs. It would work with any Helicopter.
How is the autopilot?
By trim, you mean normal Asobo beep trim?
Taxi is worrying, but I hope the rest of FM stuff is fixed nicely
Yeah, 95% governed by default, I had a graph somewhere.
They arrived fairly late at the point where NR (rotor RPM) was governed consistently at optimum value. In Mi-2 thereās just a correlator adding throttle with collective lever deflection, no smart system or RPM sensor. They added overspeed sensor on top of that later on. NR in the green is a 6% range in upper 80s in Mi-2. 100% is clearly āmax safe rpmā in their system, and max continuous is always below that, sometimes a surprising amount.
For Mi-8T/P/S (older) itās likely anywhere between 92 and 95, possibly lower at extreme workload conditions, definitely not recommended. In modernized Mi-8M / Mi-17 weāre expecting consistent 95% across the envelope, unless the pilot is really hard on the machine
hi, can you share screenshots of the cockpit, instrument panel and overhead? I donāt think there is an NDA because the model is already on sale..
All,
Updates are no longer going to be shared here at the present time, as testing and discussion on features for the new version are now to be kept in a private environment. In my excitement for advances to this model, it sounds like I overshared quite a lot.
Iāve deleted a number of my previous posts as new features and any other fixes/updates arenāt āofficialā yet, and I donāt want to cause further issues.
My understanding is that the pilot group participating in testing may already be set at the current cadre as well.
The next news/updates on this aircraft will likely be upon release of the new version in the coming weeks/months. (No ETA)
Rest assured, updates are being made, and Cera is listening to feedback as they work to significantly improve this helo.
I stand by a previous comment though to say that based on what I have seen, weāre in for one of the best helos for MSFS coming up.
I believe Cera still has an account on these forums, so if they want to post any pre-release news, they can.
Well thatās a bummer. Weāre grateful for the sneak peak. No comment about oversharing. I think they should consider sharing and communicating a little more
The product is completely unusable no rush to share any fixes.
New mod update:
CHANGES:
Latest update / hotfix : 08.08.24
Vague update:
A lot of work has been done to significantly update this helo behind the scenes, and the major upgrade is coming very soon.
Expect a statement in the very near future outlining what improvements have been made as well as the confirmed release date. Trust me, itās soon.
Yay! I was proud to be an active test participant for the last couple of months for this extensive update.
Iām away from my gaming rig / without Simmarket access for the next 8 hours or so to see what the final version number is (I suspect one additional iteration from what I tested), but without seeing their official change-log, Iād like to highlight a fewā¦highlights from my experience:
There are a few sim limitations that they couldnāt get around related to how some things work for helos in MSFS, but Iāll follow-up later tonight.
HELPFUL HINTS:
One must ALWAYS have the pitch/roll channel button on the autopilot on while in any phase of flight. If not, youāll see that the helo is uncontrollable.
The default cold/dark state starts with the rotor brake engaged. Ensure itās off. Itās the lever just to the right of the pilotās seat on the floor.
Note that there are two landing light switches in two different locations in the cockpit. Youāll have taxi, search, and left landing light on or near the pilotās collective, and another landing light switch on the lower right center pedestal.
The audio-warning system has an on switch and a separate button on the upper left wall that says āoffā which is more of a mute switch. You may need to press the off button once, and then the test button, to hear audio.
There is a sim limitation involving twin turbine helos in that occasionally both engines try to start at once. To avoid this, ensure that only the fuel valve (red levers on the ceiling) for the engine you want to start is pushed forward.
Again, I canāt claim to have found everything, and there are still may be some minor niggles that are insurmountable, but itās all in all way better than it was, and I would put it on par with Taogās Huey now!
Stream from testing new version
Only skimmed this but it looks like heās not following the checklist, and not (at least initially didnāt) map controls to throttle and rpm gov.
Need to have pitch/roll AP button enabled at all times, as well as throttle rolled on full, governor beeped up, and not aggressive on cyclic. Need to view more later, but initial thought is āread the manualā.
Iāll reserve judgement until I can try it. Streamer-user error is also possible. Iāll be happy to compare it at home ![]()
I unfortunately donāt have real world Mil experience, but I do have real world medium-utility heli experience, and I apologize I should have done more scrutiny on the FDE. I was mostly focused on avionics/systems, sounds, cosmetics, and modelling observations, while trying to specify taxi behavior. At least it taxis at all now, but I wasnāt cognizant of the nose down concerns. I will say that I have to have a fair degree of rear pull on the cyclic to prevent a nose down movement when picking up into a hover, as in neutral trim they set it to want to nose forward.
I did notice that once momentum is achieved past 100 knots the nose down profile improves a bit, but itās certainly not a flat cruise profile. Luckily this may be able to be fixed by the end user. Will follow up.
Itās OK, i wrote too hastily. Too much risk of user error on stream. I need to analyze this personally at home and come back with specifics
Well, it flies.

I am happy to be able to use this addon again.
Still, even with these peculiarities, I am happy to be able to use this addon again without any mods.
