Brief description of the issue:
The C152’s outside air temperature gauge (installed in the top-right corner of the windscreen) has an incorrect scale and does not accurately show both Celsius and Farenheit.

It’s been over a year since I reported to Zendesk… though it was a minor issue that was worth sharing - example of a simple fix that has been long overlooked.

Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:

MSFS gauge on the left, example of a correctly scaled gauge on the right.

0°C should be equal to 32°F, but it’s around 22-23°F on this gauge.
40°C should be 104°F, but it’s about 91°F in the C152.
The two scales are not at all related correctly so the gauge is unreliable.

Detail steps to reproduce the issue encountered:

Load up a flight in the C152, then look at the gauge in the top-right corner of the windscreen.

Build Version # when you first started experiencing this issue:

Since release, still present on 1.19.9.0.

Did you submit this to Zendesk? If so, what is your ticket #?

Back in October 2020, almost a year go. Ticket #67031

This was identified over a year ago at the release of the sim. It’s anyone’s guess as to when it will be fixed.

On a side note, three points to check to see if the scales are aligned are:
-40C = -40F
10C = 50F
60C = 140F

Still incorrect in SU7 so a shameless bump.

15 months and counting on this small-but-important texture/gauge fix identified on release. Not the biggest bug, naturally.

Still incorrect in SU9. Do I keep sending in Zendesk tickets? Or give up? I doubt it would make any difference either way.

Does it report the correct temperature on either scale?

Good question - I often thought about it when flying in live MP with real weather so couldn’t check. I just made a test now. Results are…

Weather dialog was set to AGL so the set temperature should match the OAT at the aircraft’s position (as far as I understand).
Format below is [Sim Temp / Gauge Reading]

Celsius Range

  • -40 / -36
  • -20 / -18 :slightly_frowning_face:
  • 0 / 3 :slightly_frowning_face:
  • 20 / 20 :grinning:
  • 40 / 38 :no_mouth:
  • 60 / 56 :slightly_frowning_face:

Fahrenheit Range

  • -40 / -39
  • -20 / -21
  • 0 / -4 :slightly_frowning_face:
  • 20 / 13
  • 40 / 31
  • 80 / 67
  • 120 / 102 :sob:

So it’s close on °C around standard temps and close on °F when it’s really cold.

:man_shrugging: still just a decal with some random numbers on it

Not sure what your point is, except maybe to add that it’s not yet fixed?

Random numbers are precisely the problem at the moment
