I am not sure that this is a bug. I am flying with Live Weather.

So can a real pilot tell me if this is by design, or is this a bug. I have never had this happen to me. I fly this aircraft in the sim all the time.

That is a bit odd. What happens when you do a cold start?

Hard to tell from mobile, but if I see that right the OAT was 40C, you’re going to need to crack the throttle more to keep it idling at 1000 RPM or higher.

Same thing happens. I shut it all the way down, turn off avionics and battery master to OFF. I turn the key to OFF. Then turn everything back on and same thing happens. Engine quits after a few seconds.

Ok, that did it. I increased throttle and now the engine is staying running. So this is expected behavior and not a bug I guess.

Seems to be vapour locking, which is something that can occur above 28C, whether it’s coded that way or just convenient side effect of how the code fuel flow with temperature is a different question.

Ok, thanks for helping me get it going.

Out of curiosity, where are you that it’s that hot outside?

The first post says North Las Vegas KVGT, And the METAR data over the last 12 hours does show the temperature there being around 44C most of the day.

Yes, I am in Las Vegas, NV. USA. It is very hot here today. We have hit 115 Fahrenheit recently.

Thanks! I missed that part - started reading down after the initial issue. Guess I need to pay more attention!

i’ve seen the same thing in the sim for the 172. i’ve had it happen with the temp as low as 32C IIRC.
confused the heck out of me the first time it happend until i read about vapor lock.

Had a similar issue. Followed the engine start checklist and it worked

I had the same problem before and it turned out to be because I have more than one throttle controller, I have the Bravo throttle quadrant and an x-52 HOTAS and they were conflicting. I now disable or unplug my HOTAS when using the Bravo.
Is it possible you have more than 1 throttle controller?

Happens to more Aircraft also to other Carenado Aircraft

No. I just have a Thrustmaster Flightstick.
