Cessna 408 SkyCourier - Engines start & run with condition levers in cutoff

(This is an update of my previous report after SU1 did not fix the issue)

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
It’s possible to start and run the C408’s turboprops with the condition levers in cutoff position and you can even complete whole flights without ever touching them.

Precondition is that you did not move the condition levers after loading into the flight and before starting the enignes.
As far as I can tell, the airplane loads with condition ‘internally’ set to RUN, even though ‘externally’ (in the 3D cockpit model) it appears to be in OFF.
If you move the levers forward into RUN and then backwards into OFF again the ‘internal’ and ‘external’ states synchronize and it is no longer possible to start the engines in cutoff.

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:
Microsoft/Carenado Cessna 408 SkyCourier, all variants

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
No difference.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Always

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Load into any variation of the C408 and prepare the aircraft for engine start
  2. Activate battery, push prop levers forward. Don’t move the condition levers but leave them in OFF!
  3. Activate the engine starter.
  4. Watch NG rise until somwehere around 15% - 17% a fuel flow of ~155 pph appears out of nowhere, the engine ignites and starts spooling up

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

I cannot replicate this, the engines will rotate but not ignite until condition levers moved from cutoff.
Once that is done as per a normal startup, ignition occurs normally.

I can. Even that I don’t need to turn on the ignition.

Turning on the auto ignition is not part of normal engine start

Ok. But I still can startup when condition lever is on the cut off position

Yeah that’s absolutely incorrect behavior.

Regarding those ignition switches up front, they are part of the icing protection group- used during icing and flight in precip (or if called in an abnormal or EP. I would have to go through my checklists to see which, if any.). For engine start the starter switches fire the igniters, crank fuel pumps and starter motor during the start cycle.

U mean, I don’t need to turn on the fuel pump as well?

In the actual aircraft you don’t

Good to know. Well, when and why I need to turn on the fuel pump then?

There is no public info on the internet.

During normal procedures? Never. The only thing I can think of that calls for it is a fuel pressure low caution

SU2 / 1.4.20 release.

Fresh FS2024 install, to make sure no traces of previous versions / betas remain.

Engines still can be started with condition in cutoff.
