REPRODUCTION STEPS

Problems: There are no “steps” per se required to reproduce the problem as they are a constant, so, instead I’m listing the issues in total I’m having.

  1. The citation always starts moored, covered in canvas and engine/pitot covers. This is odd. Other aircraft which may look like that in the walkaround mode, after pressing Alt-N all these walkaround items are removed. Not in the Citation. You Alt-N right into the cockpit with the canvas over the windshield and the moorings still connected. If you try to taxi, the anchors pull out of the ground and even fly with the plane. (See pictures 1 and 2 and 3 below).

  2. Brand new plane shows dirty and brown and blotchy in the hangar, on the ground and in the air. (See picture 4 below).

  3. I don’t know if this bug is uniquely tied to the CJ4 but this is the first aircraft I’m encountering it in: many missions (e.g. to KTEX) don’t have a destination airport programmed into the EFB. If I had the ability to manually add it, I would but the destination input is greyed out, preventing input. The career mission flight plans are missing departures or destinations. Even though the mission description in the beginning says the correct departing and arriving airports, this is missing in the flight plan(?). (See photo 5 below)

  4. After the Alt-N to skip from outside preflight to inside cockpit, in the cutscreen the Citation moves forward slightly dragging the delivery car along with it.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

I have flown this CJ4 today in a VIP mission and I have not had those issues. Despite the mission having designed the flight path for me I was able to change the entire route and put it into the avionics. I am only quarter way through the flight and so far the cj4 is following the NAV route. It allowed me to enter destination from the EFB into avionics. I am impressed so far because this functionality was not there prior to the Working Title upgrade.

Oh yes - don’t forget to do the walkaround before pressing skip to take off.

Was that in Career Mode? Do you have any fixes for my issue?

Hi, yes in Career mode in a VIP mission in the CJ4. From Rafah to Ponikve.

For the colour of your CJ4 no. I think it must be a data loading issue as mine are all white. Have you got loads of 3rd party stuff? There is something about clearing caches in the blogs and moving 3rd party stuff to a different drive. The best folk to ask would be a pilot called Hobangerick, he is very computer savvy (I am not sadly). He is to be found all over the forums and in Beta 2. Send him a private message. You will need to know what specifics your PC has, it might be the way it is configured.

I will say that once I had a PC-12 that was oddly coloured but that stopped after an update. That was ages ago though.

The CJ4 always starts with covers - not a bug.

Dragging your tie downs is most likely because you skipped, you must do the walkaround, don’t skip with this plane and never skip to taxi, it throws up all kinds of issues in the CJ4.

I am sure if you stop skipping, plan your flight in the EFB before accepting mission, load to ATC and avionics then accept, once in mission load it again and when in plane and you have started up load again. That is my go to method of ensuring a smoother flight.

I am not sure if I have helped but I hope your issues get solved - the other pilots are quite knowledgeable - some have been simming for donkeys years - me only 6 months!

How can anyone of you even fly this thing? I just tried it and it lags massively. I have vanilla msfs2024 installed no mods or third party addons. Other planes like the PC12 work fine and I have very solid fps but with the CJ4 it is < 10 fps on the ground and on take off / landing. In the air it is okay with many stutters but at least usable.

Anyone else here with these problems (PC, steam) with a tip or two what I have to change?

So I had two flights at the start of the day work with the plane looking white the way it should. The third flight it went back to the messy, grunge looking blotchy yuck.

I went to my community folder location setting and just did that. I didn’t delete anything, just went to the setting. How that would make a difference, I have no idea.

I don’t have much, if any 3rd party stuff and this livery problem started prior to me downloading a few like runway light improvements and signs etc…

Why would this be the only plane to affected by this?

Your best bet is to ask the pilots who have more computer knowledge than me. I know from reading the Beta blog that many people are having odd things happening to their game once they download scenery addons.

I almost think it might have something to do with your PC settings or PC hardware not being able to download data fast enough - ? broadband. However, I am not able to support you with those issues, I am a computer ignoramus!

I hope someone else reads this for you and helps.
