Change of hard drive

Hello

The microsoft simulator is working perfectly. But soon i gonna have a new hard drive a ssd. What is the procedure to switch the sim on the ssd.

Thanks

Do you have the Steam of Windows Store one?

For the Steam one you could try just drag and drop it on to the new SSD. Although I don’t know if this works.
For the Windows Store one you will most likely need to reinstall the whole thing.

Ok i ll probably reinstall.

Go to: Settings > Apps > Microsoft Flight Simulator > Move, and then select the drive you want.

Are you referencing MS Store or Steam?

MS Store it is

Ah, ok. I got my version on Steam and will need to make a change from HDD to SSD sometime soon. Hopefully Steam has a simple way to do this.

I already did this yesterday. I copied the Packages folder in the install directory to a different SSD, then renamed the Flight Simulator folder. When you launch the game, it will attempt to look for updates and ask where it should place the Packages or you can browse for them. Browse to the location that you copied to. It will scan the Packages and rebuild the Flight Simulator folder in the original location, minus the Packages. You can exit the game and delete the renamed Flight Simulator folder.

Thanks i ll try that
