This isn’t true, at least for me on Steam. I have MSFS 2024 installed to Steam on an SSD yet the Streamed Packages folder sits on C drive.
I tried moving it via simlink once but it didn’t like it, and I ended up with files in both the symlink and the original folder, which has never happened before (I’ve done that method a lot using Steammover).
It would be best if we had the option to relocate it like we do for cache and community folder.
Is there a vote on this, or do we need to start one?
Update: I’ve submitted a wishlist for it. Will see if it gets approved.
Update 2: It’s on the wishlist under “Option to relocate Streamed Packages folder.”. I don’t think we’re allowed to post links to wishlists iirc, not sure why, but it’s there. Maybe people are not aware of it enough that there C drive is being slowly eaten by the streamed packages folder?
Space on C drive should never be auto-allocated like this.
