Anyone else feel like the 2024 intro/main menu music is pretty depressing? It’s like I’m mourning everytime 2024 gets loaded up. I’ve tried turning off music but there are moments during flying where the music makes things more “epic” and works well.
Coming back to 2020, the intro music in 2020 is uplifting and makes me want to fly. I’m still not “tired” of it even after hundreds of hours of flying within 2020.
I’d be happy if we can simply reuse the same music from 2020 to 2024. But something more uplifting will work just as well.
I would rather be able to disable the loading screen music I have to listen to for 4 minutes everytime I open up the sim dispite having music disabled in the settings
Strange. For me, just setting the music slider under sound settings to 0 disables the music, including on the loading screen. I just tested it because of this thread – I had forgotten what the music sounded like lol
For the first couple months, I’d have a split second “splash” of music approximately when the animations started, and then no more. Now, just no music at all. Guess I’ll count myself lucky.
I have the volume turned to zero, but the menu music still plays when the sim is loading. How can we delete the audio file, or disable the music completely??
i just downloaded 2024 for the first time and first thing i was looking for was to change the music theme. its so friggin depressing. who came with that?

It’s funny how vividly people with relatively little exposure to different styles of music can still pick up on certain moods and sonic imagery, even when they don’t necessarily have a frame of reference for what they’re “supposed” to feel. Kinda sad that instrumental music evokes more or less always only references of film music to these people and sure enough they are searching for respective picture work.
I remember listening to classical music as an adolescent, and my sister once said something along the lines of, “Sounds like someone’s about to kill themselves…”
Personally, I think the MSFS 2024 soundtrack is genuinely beautiful. It adds a sense of depth, atmosphere, and awe to the whole experience of flying that is really hard to beat. There’s something about the music that complements the sheer wonder of aviation incredibly well.
That said, I’d absolutely love to see a mod that lets you add or rotate in some other tracks with a similar feel. I just don’t want to be listening to the exact same soundtrack every time I fly.
why are people honestly thinking this is depressing? it´s just beautiful. don´t you like delay and guitars? I think country music is sometimes way more depressing haha
is this the msfs 2020 menu music? it´s alright but honestly what we got for msfs 2024 is by far the most superior. it´s just that it´s always the same. would be great to have a mod
