ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Description of the issue:
The issue is split into two parts, which belong to the same issue:
- CAREERMODE
If you go into a big plane like a 737 Max and prepare your flight you can trigger voicelines (welcome, safety insteuctions, reaching cruise level…): The subtitles say they are spoken by the co-pilot or the cabin crew (e.g. safetyinstructions, welcome, etc). So say the textlines “On behalf of our captain (the player) I welcome onboard … My name is Jane Doe (Copilot’s name, which changes every mission)….” and so on. These lines use the selected captain’s (player) voice. This is wrong. Example: Male player character, female copilot. You hear some of the copilots text lines spoken in the male player’s voice.
If you fly a plane without copilot (e.g. vision jet on vip missions) you say the line’s in captains voice (which is correct) but say the lines from a perspective of a not present copilot (e.g. “on behalf of our captain”)
- FREEFLIGHT
If you use the Co-pilot-AI-ATC-Answering feature the spoken voicelines ignore if you fly in a plane with a copilot with you or without. Even if you sit in a cargo Cessna 172 without a present co-pilot. You always hear the ATC messages spoken in the voice of the copilot, which is very odd, if you play a male character and have chosen a female co-pilot. (Example: Your male character sits alone in a freight c172 and speaks to the atc in a female voice of the non-present copilot.
In summary: The selection of the correct voice amd matching textlines does not work: Neither in career mode nor in free flight mode.

To my mind it shouldn’t require a certain number of votes to have this fixed.
It’s a fault that takes away the veneer of realism from a simulation. Having a female voiced character called Ann only to spin the camera to see a fella is funny, not realistic. To think that this slipped by during testing is also funny as it’s a common occurrence. As is the Pursuer gaff and the 17 colon 30 announcement to the NPCs.
The details are important in a simulator. As are the spelling erras.
The pronunciation of initiate during the fire fighting missions makes me want to let it burn.

With only twelve votes, I doubt it will be very high on the list to correct.
The last time I checked the top 120 bug reports, number 120 had about 60.
Voted and replied to keep this afloat.
Less critical that other functional bugs (and they are numerous !) to my mind, but definitely immersion-breaking.
It doesn’t need to be high on the list. But it should be on the list at all.
It would be great if this issue could please be added to the internal bug list of the devs, so that is on their radar at all.
For me it is very distracting and immersion disrupting, but it is not as critical as other issues like constantly rebooting avionics or constantly disconnecting autothrust.
Still an issue in Su 5.1 … you have a female copilot and hear male voicelines and vice versa. Still distracting.
I play on PC and this has been an issue since release. Assuming on all platforms. Really takes the immersion away when the female next to you speaks in a low baritone or the old man co-pilot sounds like a 20 year old female with a high voice.
Exactly. A fix is desperately needed for immersion. Can we please get a bug logged?

Ok, this one is pretty funny!
It really caught me by surprise. I was giving the pre-takeoff briefing to my passengers when suddenly my male voice turned female, my name changed to Jessica, and I was demoted from Captain to First Officer!
I looked to my right, suspecting I somehow got mixed up with my FO, but the FO was a burly dude with a beard. Maybe that was Jessica after all.
Still an issue, can confirm, and it seems to be happening more frequently after Sim Update 6.1, version 1.8.16.0.
