MS set the final item price, devs just submit their external market value.
If you want SC designs cheaper purchase from Justflight, who btw are the SC Designs publisher on the MS Marketplace, SCD does not sell directly to the public, only via JFs MP storefront or JFs external accounts
You may find this useful if buying in or from the UK.
It all depends tho on what jurisdiction the buyer is in and their local legislation
My Personal Comment & Observation
My understanding is that developers provide Microsoft with the price of their product in US dollars. Microsoft converts that to local currencies based on their current exchange rate policies. The developer gets their price (less commission) no matter the actual exchange rate at the time of sale (i.e., Microsoft can lose money if the exchange rate is unfavorable).
I think thatâs what you were saying, right?
MS add their commission on top of what the dev wishes to charge for each product. The price increases and fluctuations are controlled by MS not the developer such as inflation and exchange rate factors
Here is a video of said product by the product developer clearly showing internal, external and flight characteristics.
Plenty easy enough to find for your own due diligence before purchase.
The fact that the OP is not happy with their purchase is ENTIRELY their own responsibility and fault.
Personally Iâd say take it as a lesson learned, dont rush to purchase in future.
We have all bought items we are not happy with at some point in MSFS, its not right to lambast a developer for our own mistakes.
I think Iâd rather fly the Eurofighter.
There are two kinds of FS aircraft. Those that I absolutely will buy no matter what, simply because I love the real thing. In that case if the product is absolutely great that is bonus. If it is barely usable, as long as I recognize the real thing in the simulated one, I keep it and wait for updates or maybe a second creator to deliver a better version.
The Connie, a PA-32-301 and a Stinson SR7 or 9 would be in that category.
For almost every other aircraft I would always wait for at least one, or better a couple of reviews, either by someone I know and trust, or that show the things I look for in an aircraft.
I have never purchased a car without testdriving and reading reviews. Except for maybe the so called winter beaters, I would buy for a case of beer or two cartons of smokes, with just enough TĂV on them to get through the salted winter roads without having to drive my different âkeepersâ
So I understand the OP feeling like he was ripped off, but sorry consider it a lesson learned.
But if it doesnât deliver to what it says in the description you can get a refund
Well thatâs just it - it does meet the description. You could dispute phrases like âhigh qualityâ until the cows come home, those are meaningless in consumer law because they are (a) vague and (b) ubiquitous on every product in the world. You canât in any way say this doesnât do what it says on the tin. It just doesnât do it to the standard that most other addons do, and the price is higher than normal for such a weak product.
We canât, itâs hidden by the community. If itâs about the price being higher than you think it should and so therefore you still think itâs a scam, that wonât wash. Thatâs not what determines a scam.
