Welcome to the 196th flight event with Gunpilot and a whole bunch of other like-minded sim pilots in MSFS 2024. If you have just discovered these flight events for the first time, welcome aboard and you will be made to feel very much at home with the rest of the pilots on the flight.
The only request we make is that you arrive on the tarmac in the aircraft designated for the flight (and if the aircraft is one you have not flown before, take a few minutes to acquaint yourself with the aircraft flight characteristics prior to dropping in onto the rwy at the start of the event). Join in the banter on the supplied COMMS RADIO which can be found in Gunpilot’s Discord server (click on this link to take you directly to Gunpilot’s server Discord).
This weeks flight details:
As March arrives in Japan, the cherry blossoms burst into breathtaking bloom, transforming the landscape into a sea of delicate pink and white. From the bustling cities to the remote mountain valleys, the Sakura trees stand in full glory, their petals drifting like soft snowflakes in the gentle breeze. Against this stunning backdrop, a squadron of intrepid pilots embark on an unforgettable journey, soaring across Japan’s rugged main island in their trusted Draco aircraft. The flight path takes them over dramatic ridges, through deep valleys, and along winding rivers lined with endless cherry blossoms—a sight so beautiful it seems almost unreal. The crisp morning air carries the fragrance of spring, and as the early mist rises from the valleys below, the unfolding landscape reveals a mesmerizing contrast between delicate floral beauty and the untamed wilderness.
This adventure is more than just a scenic joyride—it is a thrilling test of skill and precision. The rugged terrain demands expert handling, as each Draco gracefully navigates through tight valleys, over rolling hills, and onto challenging landing spots where precision is paramount. With countless bridges spanning the rivers and gorges, the opportunity to fly beneath them adds an extra dose of excitement, making this a flight like no other. Yet, fortune smiles upon the journey, as the weather promises to be kind, offering smooth skies and crisp visibility. As the day unfolds and the sun climbs higher, the mist dissolves, revealing an endless expanse of Japan’s stunning topography, kissed by the fleeting magic of cherry blossom season. Every pilot on this journey will experience the sheer exhilaration of flight, the breathtaking beauty of Japan in bloom, and the unmatched camaraderie of exploring the skies together in their rugged and resilient Draco aircraft.

*Again, a packaged up WEATHER file has been developed and included along with the flight plan, negating any need for anyone to dial in weather settings, as well as ensuring that all pilots are experiencing exactly the same weather conditions. The Weather Preset file is located in #gunpilots-events (click this link Discord) to be taken there. Load this file directly into the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 directory on your PC in the PRESETS folder which is located within the WEATHER folder in the aforementioned MSFS2024 directory.
