Choose Departure Runway?

Is there a way to have ATC use a certain runway for all departures? I’ve added a wind layer, but it doesn’t change which RWY ATC uses. I need this option when testing various airports for correct taxiing procedures.

Hello,

one tip to think about, after you change your wind manually, what infos ATIS shows?

Automated weather shows the correct wind I set. But ATC still sets departures with a tailwind.

Nice to see another bug related to in sim ATC

Hard to say how this factor changes inside sim…

I’ve been saying for a while that it would be nice if we could chose our landing and departure runways in the ATC screen. Useful to practice crosswind take offs and landings. Maybe Asobo will build that in one day but TBH it’s not really a biggie for me.

Also, there are airports where you take-off only on one direction IRL, and MSFS does not care about this and quite often selects the opposite RW, which is correct for the wind, but not correct for those airports, like my home port URMN.

Are you changing weather before or after you spawn? I know that with the old FS9, once you click Fly, the departure runways are set. You can set gale force tail winds, but ATC will still have you taking off in the direction set at the beginning.

I will have to check that. I was setting weather after I start flying.

ATC gives me the runway based on the runway and Departure Procedure that I select in Simbrief…works every time
