I wanted to make this post to make asobo aware of it, it’s been personally bugging me lately. It takes away alot from the immersion seeing city lights not drawing in the distance. In other simulators it looks stunning to see lights all the way to the horizon.
Imagine flying into Tokyo which is a huge city and you see this :
If performance is the issue, make the lighting in the distance lower quality compared to the ones close up. but having a smudged scenery after a certain distance is just not the way to go.
i thought they meant just the terrain having that sephia effect and not the lights draw distance.
i’m really hoping asobo makes us surprised the 29th with proper night lighting.
I find myself going back to XP11 sometimes to experience a nice night approach.
They said it’s a combination of multiple things;
right now the sepia map is showing much too close (especially from high altitude), while the effect was only meant to be seen on the horizon.
They will fix this, and the range between should be filled up with the proper point light sources.
I’m not sure on the timeline (as in, don’t know if it will be released tomorrow (patch day is the 27th, on the 29th there’s a development update post)).
