Climbing Mount Everest in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

I recently took on an epic adventure in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024: climbing Mount Everest using the new walkaround feature! Starting at Base Camp, I worked my way up through Base Camps I, II, III, and IV, navigating steep terrain and snowy challenges all the way to the summit. It wasn’t without its quirks—like sinking into the snow and keeping the terrain realistic—but the views made it worth it.

Have you tried using the walkaround feature in MSFS 2024? What’s your favorite destination or adventure so far?

As a former rock climber, this is huge. How do you do it?

I had the same idea - but for Mt. Kilimanjaro. And I cheated, flying the Cessna C408 from Moshi (HTMS) - first to the saddle between Uhuru & Mawenzi peaks:

and then heading higher and landing west of the Kibo cauldron & walking to the summit from there:

On the rim of the cauldron. Mawenzi is off in the distance to the East:

Fine vistas all around:

My plan is to land as high as I can & then climb the rest of the way for each of the highest peaks on each continent.

This is another unanticipated feature of MSFS 2024 - allowing folks to vist places and do things that they willl never have the opportunity do do in real life.
