Created single Cu layered weather - preset file:

Start at EPPR at time as depicted on picture. Use Showcase mode to move camera over cloud tops right after sim start - 3d thermal visualization clearly shows thermal shooting well over cloud tops:

Slewing glider to this place also confirms sustainable lift over cloud tops on cockpit vario indicator.

This is flatland area I fly in RL so no ridge lift is possible here.

Expected behaviour: Cu cloud tops should exactly match thermals tops, as Cu clouds IS thermal air reaching given heigh and place.

I’ve seen exactly the issue as described by the OP . I’m a RL glider pilot with numerous “cloud climbs” (Brit glider pilots are allowed to do that, and it’s often helpful given our mixed weather). In the SU12 Beta it’s straightforwardly possible to keep climbing above the clouds.

It seems this may be being reported two different ways, either (i) the thermal is much higher than the cloudtops or (ii) the cloudtops are much lower than the altitude specified in the weather settings. The latter suggestions is reported separately here: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/the-height-of-the-clouds-does-not-correspond-to-the-settings-in-the-weather-presets/578413/1

I can reproduce the same, as per the above very informative post. There is still significant lift above clouds
