Same experience ‘When climbing though cloud layers, some layer of clouds look like they are pasted on a 2D layer and give a paralax illusion, similar to pasted cloud drawings on a 2D hollywood backdrop’.
Clouds more far away from your point of view are totally clipped, it seems…..shimmering worse then current SU3 Build and MSFS2020 as well, with the beta .22 build. And that is with clouds at high and Ultra as well, does not matter
This really needs to be said loud and clear… clouds currently look very bad… especially the puffy ones. Clouds… one of the fundamental elements of flight simulation, its immersion… they need to be fix, they looked better for sure… especially in VR… they’ve never looked as bad as they do now… what’s happening at their edges, etc… is this some kind of joke now…
Are the users having this issue using dynamic rendering? If I remember right, cloud LOD levels are affected if the sim is trying to reduce overall LOD levels to hit your target frames. I have seen this issue but it’s always when I’m having absolutely smooth VR flights with ground or sea textures absolutely lovely. Perhaps this is merely a compromise to address overall VR graphical performance. If that’s the case we may just be at that place where any demanded improvement comes with some other cost.
Do those of you experiencing this think there may be a possibility that the issue you’re facing could be related to reports from this thread? [1.6.22.0] Heavy cloud / cloud-edge flickering
