Cockpit camera has mouse acceleration turned on

As reported by someone else on the subreddit, some sort of mouse acceleration seems to be present when in cockpit view. It is not related to the “Cursor Acceleration” setting in accessibility and it does not seem like it’s something you can change ?
Might not be very obvious to some but i’m reporting this as a wanted feature/bug because playing with mouse acceleration whilst also having used the same sensitivity for shooter games in the past 10 years is really hard.
Thanks!

I think this might be the momentum function? Camera settings, cockpit, then set “Freelook Momentum” to zero?

Unfortunately no, in fact turning this down just makes the mouse acceleration more obvious. Do you not have this issue ?

My brother, those posts may have been mine. I am plagued with this issue. It is by the single biggest problem with the sim for me right now.

Happened in the Alpha too. I am amazed more people are not complaining. I wonder if we share any hardware that may be the cause? I have tried several mice with no change.

CH rudder pedals, honeycomb alpha yoke and bravo throttle. 7800x3d, 64gb ddr5 ram, 3080 with latest drivers. Windows 11 23h2.

Please let me know if you find a fix. I have tried everything i can think of.

Ive also complained about this earlier. I highly doubt it has anything to do with hardware.
Most likely another genius development decision, like the controller getting stuck in glue as you pan around over instruments.

Definitely not hardware as it’s an issue on Xbox too!

Yeah I agree, I expected many more people to talk about this. We don’t seem the share anything in common except windows 23h2. I have a Logitech G502X but I doubt the mouse model causes this.
What’s weird is this mouse accel isn’t present in walkaround mode.
Hoping for a fix soon as accidentally spinning my character’s view to 1500rpm because I flicked my mouse a little too fast isn’t very fun

Same on my Series X

Pointer moves and selects/clicks no problem. Then I press the centre wheel to go into view mode, once I move it flies around in all directions!

Not as bad in external view but still messy to use.

Went back to 2020 and no cockpit mouse issues and I’ve replicated the 2020 binding in 24!

Very annoying especially when flying study level as the mouse view control is very handy

I don’t mind a little mouse acceleration but we need to be able to adjust it. As is, it’s way too sensitive.

Has anyone managed to fix this mouse problem in the cockpit? impossible to play like that.

If you can’t point to a setting to change to stop this behaviour, then it’s a bug and has been reported as such.

I am also having the same issue turned down all momentum settings no change just more obvious

No and apparently it’s not a bug either, even more annoying as they can’t point to a setting to change to stop the behaviour.

All turning down momentum does is makes the view control using Xbox controller slow as hell.
People use a joystick with mouse and keyboard on Xbox and leave the controller.
Everyone who does this can’t use their mouse in cockpit to fine tune their eye position for using switches. This will make it virtually impossible to fly aircraft such as PMDG etc where you need to move your view with the mouse to find buttons

Same here, also by far the biggest issue in the sim for me. The bug linked by the moderator does not seem to be the same as this… and if this isnt a bug then its terrible design (everyone hates mouse acceleration and I have never seen a game where it is impossible to turn it off).

MOMENTUM causes your head to rotate with a ghastly glue-like motion which is genuinely motion-sickness inducing. if you want to see exactly what effect it is trying to induce, set it to 100% and rotate your mouse, then after projectile vomiting, set it to ZERO. now your mouselook instantly snaps to where you want to look - or it would, if it wasn’t for the built-in MOUSE ACCELERATION. unlike momentum, mouse acceleration cannot presently be disabled, making it nearly impossible to accurately snap your view to a switch on the overhead panel of an airliner without overshooting (or finding yourself facing 180 degrees backwards when you meant to look to the right, because heaven forbid you moved your mouse too fast and the acceleration “feature” turned your 90 degree turn into a 180 degree turn).

in short, mouse acceleration needs to be adjustable, preferably with an option to completely disable it. there’s a reason why everyone who played twitch-based games use to turn off mouse acceleration in the windows control panel, back in the bad old days when it was enabled by default.

Definitely a bug or something that needs to be addressed as it makes moving around the cockpit using the mouse rather painful and uncomfortable taking away from the experience quite a bit!
