I have a mouse and keyboard hooked up to the Xbox and the mouse works in all of the menus and in flight drop down menu. When I go inside the cockpit the cursor moves and highlights buttons and says “click to interact”. The default mapping is a left click to interact but when I left click nothing happens, you can’t press any buttons.
I’ve got the same problem but on a PC. This is the first time I’ve had this happen since today.
Same here (on a PC). Some controls apparently work (like strobe) however clicking the yoke flashes it to yellow however it doesn’t hide.
Any suggestions?
The geniuses at Asobo implemented a completely new way to interact with the cockpit only to forget to bind the actions to any keys/buttons. Gotta love that “press [?] to interact”.
Most of us just after updating to SU5 (or in the case of Xbox users, simply connecting a keyboard/mouse) were stuck trying to figure out what was going on. I personally thought my sim was completely broken until I came back to the forums to check.
FYI, map the keys/buttons as shown in the screenshot above. There is also a tertiary action that you might want to set while you’re there. It’s mostly used in airliner controls.
I have my mouse mapped to left click for primary interaction and it still won’t click. I can highlight the yoke for example and it says click to interact however it won’t click to hide the yoke, but if I hover over the yoke with the Xbox controller I can press A to interact
I’ve same problem on PC. No interaction by clicking. When I apply the cursor, all switches and buttons flash and nothing happens. I updated today and it has been since.
same bro this is not made for PC version it’s only for XBOX!
You need to go to the options → controls menu and map keys/mouse buttons to “cockpit interaction” actions. It blows my mind that devs left this unmapped by default.
Or under “Accessibility” switch to Legacy mode, however, you’ll lose tooltip values (throttle percentages, heading, etc.) when doing so.
Mine has the buttons mapped to left click not the question mark. Still doesn’t work
Thanks, still no joy. With option set to Lock controls like Yoke change to blue with mouse hover, onclick it changes to yellow but does not hide. With option set to Legacy the Yoke doesn’t change to blue on hover and still does not hide onclick.
Some other controls, like lights/trim/throttle/PFD change state and rotate, however Bat and Avi do not change either colour or state irrespective of the state of the accessibility option.
This upgrade has completely broken my user interaction. Is anyone able to work with the upgrade?
it is definitely bugged.
In usually works on my xbox mapped as in the picture above.
BUT
Xbox often looses half the inputs of the mouse. Sometimes only movement no clicking possible (also in menu !). Sometimes clicking but no movement possible.
I tried at least 5 different mouses by now, some with cable some with a USB wireless dongle. makes no difference.
it is bugged.
If xbox looses half the mouse inputs, only a restart of the xbox helps.
Thanks! That was the good solution!
Xbox does not have that option
I have given up looking for a solution. It really is a ■■■■ poor problem. So much so xbox msfs going in bin
What picture above ?
No idea anymore, I abandonded playing MSFS on my Xbox a long time ago and only fly on PC.
I just had this exact problem. Also some of my view controls just didn’t work anymore when on the cockpit mode.
Turned out I enabled the “Home Cockpit Mode” in the general camera settings. It seems besides not centering the camera and disabling the virtual cockpit from rendering, it also deactivates the cockpit interaction controls and some of the cockpit view controls. After turning the home cockpit option off, everything worked fine.
If you still struggle with this problem, try and see if home cockpit mode is enabled and if so, disable it.
Hi everyone,
After the recent update I have lost the option to change my cockpit interaction from locked to legacy. It is currently on locked and greyed out so I cannot change it. Everything else on the accessibility page is fine. Any ideas how to enable this option would be greatly appreciated.
Same problem when in VR. Fixed by exiting and reentering VR or pressing the right thumb stick on the Xbox controller.
