Cockpit Temperature

In order to realistically use the cockpit controls for temperature and ventilation in the sim or to simulate the effect of e.g. opening or closing a cockpit window, at least one variable representing the cockpit interior temperature would be useful.

Not sure how it’s coded but some aircraft models seem to have realistic interior climate systems.

A couple examples (from my fleet anyway) are the temp control in the Blacksquare analog King Air – thermometer responds correctly as does the “out-of-range” lights for cold/hot cabin – and the A2A Comanche whose windows can fog up while on the ground and be remedied by opening the vent window.

@TyeAir:
Are there any specific MS/AS or 3rd party aircraft where you noticed a deficiency that inspired this Wishlist item?

Thank you. I would like it at every aircraft, because nearly every aircraft has some kind of cockpit temperature control.

The Kodiak has cockpit and cabin temps as separate variables that are controlled independently.

I’ve seen cockpit temperature simulation in Black Square TBM 850 and I like it a lot, I think it adds to the immersion. It goes as far as opening the door will change the temperature (i.e. you can cool the aircraft this way on a hot day).
It would be great if something like that was supported by the core sim, not something addon developers have to implement on their own. I realize it’s a niche feature that is mostly for simmers who want highest level of realism but if MSFS wants to cater to all the audiences (as it claims) it should consider such features too.
