Quick question on the Navigraph charts, more specifically the colors and the “circles”.
Is there a legend anywhere that says why some lines are Orange, purple, etc…
And what the solid lines verse dotted lines means?
Two different approaches shown, ones an ILS into 03 the other VOR DME into 21 both at YTS. I just don’t fully (or at all) understand the ovals in “dotted” and solid lines, as well as the hook going out on the VOR DME chart.
If you open the actual Jeppesen charts I think it will become clearer. The ovals are holding patterns, for example. You open the charts by clicking in the left list in your screenshot. You can also overlay a chart on the route by pressing the button next to the pin icon. For example:
The color coding for the visualized route: SID - pink, enroute - red, STAR - green, approach - maroon/beige. If any of these are missing it is shown with a dotted line. Narrow dotted lines can also be part of the approach segment, and if so is the missed approach procedure.
I highly recommend the video posted above for a Navigraph tutorial. NOTAM put out some really good informative videos for MSFS but his Youtube channel fell silent…too bad hope it returns one day.
