So I recently updated MSFS and also have the latest NVIDIA driver(461.72) for my laptop with 4K monitor and a RTX2080 Super card. Now I cannot adjust the NVIDIA settings to get a decent color scheme for the life of me. It looks terrible compared to what it used to be. XP11 looks fine, and the adjustments I make there to the NVIDIA settings do what I would expect. Not so with MSFS. I’m running Windows 10 latest release.
and how we should know how your feeling about wrong colors looks like, if you not give us an screenshot ?
I figured it out. Somehow my monitor resolution setting was changed from 4k to 2k.
I thought I had it - but it turns out it’s only a workaround that must be performed every time I start the sim. I’m attaching the good color and bad color screenshots. Whenever the sim initiates,! it’s always the bad color scheme. If I go into Options > General and change the resolution of my monitor, then save/apply, then go back into the sim - voila it’s perfect. Doesn’t really matter what I change it to - any change of resolution resets the color scheme to what I’ve set up?
this looks like that you have HDR enabled ?

If you have Nvidia Experience installed, why not use the drivers post-processing tool to change colour setting, vibrancy, contrast etc. ‘on the fly’ within the simulator while it’s running? Charles
this is of course possible.. but beside of this it seems something is wrong, or ?
( I still assume something with the HDR setting )

The vibrancy is way too high in his first sample image. Try setting your display driver colour management settings, to ‘default’. Don’t use the Nvidia settings for a moment. Have you installed a third-party shader previously? Perhaps re-install your display driver too. I select advanced options for the install of the driver, ‘custom install’ and select clean install, (or what ever that option is), Micha will know. Do you have any other games to try? Is this just related to MSFS 2020? Charles
Thanks for your help. I’ve been very satisfied using the NVIDIA control panel to tweak my graphic experience and had a stable workable configuration. But as I mentioned, now when I start up MSFS the color scheme is terrible every time. But then if I change the resolution in MSFS (doesn’t matter to what) the graphics revert to my normal high quality setup. Then I switch it back to my default monitor resolution and my restored good settings are retained and off I go, until the next time. XP11 and all my other apps are fine and don’t have this issue.
NVIDIA investigated with me and says it’s not an issue with their driver which I agree with.
