Combining FSX with Flight Simulator 2020

I am curious on how to combine the Flight Simulator 2020 scenery with the FSX engine.

Is there a way to import the Flight Simulator 2020 scenery into FSX?

Any thoughts on how I can get started?

Don’t even try. The FS2020 scenery is so detailed that FSX would get 1 FPS trying to render it. I is a 14 year old engine trying to render 2020 graphics.
Basically, FS2020 is NOT backwards compatible with FSX, unless you want a slideshow with 2 days in between frames.

■■■■ son, that’s the funniest thing I’ve read today!

There are many ortho scenery providers for FSX (some with their own Elevation Correction utilities - hint hint Asobo) on the order of tens of Gigabytes.

To migrate even the possibility of Bing Maps (forget Photogrammetry) is Petabytes of data. Paraphrasing the popular Internet meme: “Ain’t no one got time (or local storage) for that.”

Thank you for the feedback. I was looking for an alternative until flight simulator 2020 gets a little more stable.

It will cost you about a hundred USD, but to get correct base land class and elevation - get Orbx Global Base and Vector. Then you’ll have to invest in regional specific land class like North America or Europe, or whichever area you fly in most / want to see rendered.

It will not be Bing Maps accurate. Not even close, but at least roads, railways and elevations are corrected in FSX which makes VFR more realistic. And it improves greatly upon base FSX scenery.

Purely in terms of scenery, there is no alternative to MSFS; this is a new era for the genre.

Without spending a fortune, your best bet would be X-Plane with Ortho4XP.
