Which of the 3 developers will you be waiting for?
Big fan of FlyTampa & MK Studios. Should be good competition.
Better competition than Toronto!
Wooofff !! Finally.
MK-Studios version out now on Orbx & SimMarket. Soon to release on Contrail.
FSimStudios version is expected to release end of Aug/early Sep.
FlyTampa…???
I’ll pass on MK-Studios based on current streams showing inaccuracies and outdated. FlyTampa, will have to wait and see, they released YYZ but outdated as well, and have never corrected the bumpy taxiway Alpha.
FSimStudios I imagine is who I will go with, and they will be releasing Winnipeg shortly after.
I’ll be taking a look at MK’s tonight and tomorrow on stream. Looking forward to FSimStudios as you’ll get Mont Tremblant with it if you have other FSimStudios products. FlyTampa might be in 2030, using an outdated 2000 layout, which doesn’t have international flights…who knows! Toronto was slightly older than RegDesigns, but RegDesigns was poorly optimized and left town with a bag of money…stating they were concentrated on their university studies and couldn’t do an update.
FlyTampa cancelled their project.
BMWorld & AMSim released their YUL yesterday.
I agree with FlyTampa that it’s become too crowded in Montreal. FSimStudios would have cancelled theirs in June but were too far into development to scrap it. A nice addition to FSimStudios’ version is Mont Tremblant.
MK-Studios is working on LOD and RAM usage to improve performance. Someone was complaining on their Facebook page that the railing on the departure level roadway isn’t arched correctly…REALLY??? Come on!
Is this Flight Simulator or Airport Drop-off Simulator? I get the interiors at the terminal are important because you see them at the gate, but you don’t look at the departure-level roadway…EVER!
Understandable about FlyTampa, glad to hear FlightSim Studios is continuing, theirs will be superior.
From soneone on the inside at CYUL and is providing them information
-
MK, first. Rushed scenery, inaccuracies, missing new taxiways, low performance on some, etc
-
BMWorld, probably second, but that’s a notch above freeware, also missing taxiways, and inaccuracies.
-
FSimStudios. Up to date airport layout, accurate textures, I’m guessing decent performance , and one heck of a good insider to provide details and accuracy"
That’s not the most atrocious feedback I’ve heard. From the south side of the domestic end on the east, and the US departures wing on the south (stands 80-86, 2, 2A - especially from 2) if you look left or right, you’re looking at the dropoff road at the terminal.
I agree with your sentiment here but if it looks really bad, I can imagine wanting to get it fixed.
BMWorld’s is on sale for $8.99, but I think I’ll wait for FSS.
I wish airports offered a version which didn’t texture inside the tower, deep within the terminal, etc. for those of us who don’t care about airports beyond what you’d see from a cockpit. I don’t have the best system and it’s frustrating to know I’d get better fps if the Taco Bell menu three terminals over wasn’t modeled.
FFS should be out by the week of the 20th according to the lead dev.
MK has interiors where it matters by the gates.
