Join us for the 5th Firefly adventure across the Atlantic as we commemorate the legendary flight of The Bremen – 97 years to the day after it happened!
In 1928, three brave aviators – Captain Hermann Köhl, Commandant James Fitzmaurice, and Baron Günther von Hünefeld – took to the skies in a rugged Junkers W33 aircraft named The Bremen. Departing from Baldonnel Aerodrome in Ireland, they battled fierce storms, compass failures, fuel uncertainty, and navigational chaos for 36 gruelling hours before finally touching down on the icy bogs of Greenly Island, Canada.
It was the first-ever east-to-west transatlantic flight in a fixed-wing aircraft, and it changed aviation history forever.
