After years of struggling with various earphones and microphones for comms when simming, I found my old Plantronics Voyager Legend Bluetooth headset in my junk box recently. I recharged it and while it announced “7 hours talk time”, after about 20 minutes it started hounding me with “Recharge headset”.
I found a battery replacement guide that looked promising with a link to a new battery from an ebay seller.
Well, after pulling the rest of my hair out trying to follow the guide, I ended up ripping the rubber cover off the thing and managed the repair.
It isn’t pretty but it works! (and actually “More than 7 hours” …)
Combined with my joystick trigger button mapped to the Discord push-to-talk I have solid comms again.
