MSFS 2024. I have 5 helicopters in my Community folder and very few other add-ons. I have the MilTech CH-47 which is one of my favorite aircraft. It has worked fine since I purchased it from Orbx, but suddenly it does not appear in the sim anymore.
Yes, it IS in the community folder, as are the four other helos, but only the CH-47 is not appearing. In my Library, it tells me that both the CH-47 AND my whole community folder has been “disabled”, but why then are the other four helos working? If I select “enable” it tells me to restart the sim, which I do, but no joy. I would really love to have my Chinook back! Any constructive help would be most appreciated! Thanks,
Chris

I have just re-loaded MSFS2020.
The Community folder isn’t visible on Explorer,
I found the Community folder by performing a ‘Search’ of the Microsoft Flight Simulator, master folder.
To copy anything into the Community folder, it has to be openned via the Search route.
Thanks for the response-
My Community folder is very visible- maybe the difference is you are referring to MSFS 2020 and I am using 2024?
In any case, the Community folder has several items in it that are showing up in the game and working fine. My CH-47 from MilTech is also in there- but it isn’t showing up in the game for some reason.
And I forgot to mention the CH-47 that comes with the game I (I have the Aviator Edition) is also missing from the game.
Hmm. If you remove the CH from the Community folder temporarily and launch the sim do you see the default CH?
I’m wondering if their naming structure is the same and conflicting with one another.
Early post-release, when Marketplace content was automatically being added and enabled, we were creating “dummy” folders in the Communitiy folder with the exact same name as the streamed Marketplace package. Doing so would suppress the loading of the Marketplace package.
I wonder if this what is happening for you.
It’s an interesting theory, but no, if I remove the 3rd party add on , the default Chinook does not appear.
Everything appears as it in theory should, i.e., everything is in place as it should be, but no CH-47 are showing up in game. The library shows only my 3rd party CH-47 as “disabled”, but I cannot enable it by restarting the sim. When I click “enable”, it tells me it should appears the next time the sim restarts. But after I restart, the CH-47 is still missing, and the library once again shows “disabled”. ![]()
I would like to add, it appears that my Airbus H225 Helo is now also AWOL…
Probably because your Content.xml file has contradictory lines that enable and disable it, and the last line wins.
Do you know of a way to remedy this condition? Can the file be edited or deleted and regenerated?
You can edit it and look for the lines affecting your plane. Use any text editor.
I edited the content.xml file and ALL of my helicopters are now back. I am very indebted to you my friend. Thank you for sharing you knowledge-
