Comparing clouds on Meteoblue satellite to MSFS world map

Sorry, there isn’t a general “Weather” section other than this one.

I have been comparing the clouds (satellite map) shown on Meteoblue’s website to the MSFS world map and also to clouds seen during flight. This is live weather obviously. I gotta say: I’m pretty impressed. MSFS is amazingly close. I flew from Indy area to Turks&Caicos this AM in the CJ4 and I checked the clouds all the way using Meteoblue. They were really, really close.
And yesterday, my arrival into KCFJ seemed to be really accurate from a clouds/rain perspective. The IMC approach was pretty intense with bases at 600 ft or so. I hand flew it the LPV, and actually did ok. The runway/taxiway/apron was drenched with puddles formed and all that.

There’s some things to improve, but I’m really impressed.

I had never heard of Meteoblue before MSFS, and now it’s my go-to weather page. Very comprehensive, and not dumbed down like so many are.

Meteoblue is great for planning vfr flights in mfs, especially now, in winter. I am avoiding exaggerated icing using Aviation & flight → in flight icing tab and it works pretty well.

Yes, as the weather data in the sim is coming from Meteoblue it should be correct. I use the website also to check cloud base and tops to avoid icing. Most of the time correct. As far as I can tell there is a delay of one or more hours in the sim.
