Computer Desk Recommendation for Triple Screens

All,

Can anyone recommend a good quality ergonomic computing/gaming desk that will allow triple screen and a good depth from front to back, and plenty of room on the desk itself. My trusty current desk is 20-25 years old now and is beginning to show its age.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Regards

Pricey, but tough to beat the Secret Labs Mangus Pro IMHO. I could never go back to a normal desk.

Usually the best solution to this is build your own. Making a stand is not something that a lot of experience. Most of the time you can get away with 2 sets of desks and a pretty board laid over the top.

I had a series of seriously bad run ins with Secret Labs. Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

My review here from last year.

Hi @NationalPuma375, how big are your three screens? Desk recommendations will sorta depend on that, methinks! :slightly_smiling_face:

Trying to find a single desk for 3 large monitors may be hard. Three desks might work, or one desk and two floor monitor stands.

I’ve added the home-cockpit tag as I think those folks might have suggestions that could help, and added “Recommendation for Triple Screens” to the title to help with searches.

Believe it or not, Ikea has some good desk options. Not pre-built though, go with a tabletop and legs or drawers. Wide, moderately deep, beefy enough to clamp on a yoke. It’s what I have and I highly recommend. My desk has enough room to do double duty as my flight deck and my WFH space.

I’ve been slowly planning on a corner desk, and if I can afford it (or build my own) something like the SimLab triple mount with extruded aluminum tubes. That way the monitors can float above the desk, and I can swing them to different angles, so it sort of naturally fits in a corner. But the cost adds up quickly and I haven’t quite figured out the best sizes to fit a yoke (mounted under) and other gear ergonomically.

Like all things, YMMV. I have a desk and two chairs. Zero issues. Would buy again.

What ?
What has milage to do with bad company policy. The problem I had were customer service issues driven by company policy. This was from their manager level down to their advisory staff.

My review simply stated that they produce higher quality items, but their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. In other words what is the point of paying the extra cost?

Every company will have a product that fails to meet the tolerances set out in the guarantees. To expect everything to work 100% of the time is unreasonable. How that company deals with its obligations is where the difference is between a good place to spend your well earned, and a place to avoid. I threw away an ÂŁ800 chair with a minor fault that would cost ÂŁ80 to repair. Simply because dealing with this company simply was not worth my while.

They gave me final ultimatums because I asked for a replacement part that was covered by the warranty text. When I needed another replacement outside of the warranty, I spoke to their customer services in an attempt to ensure I bought the correct item. It turned out that their product had changed, which led to me being pointed to the wrong product. This was after I gave them a serial number and product code to match the chair I had. I was given a link to order from.

They ducked and dived at every offer I gave them to make good on their mistake. They disputed advice was given, and asked me to provide proof. Even when proof was found, they still refused to accept responsibility They only relented when I posted the bad review on trustpilot. A review that was edited on about 4 occasions due to the misleading text they kept adding to it. You have to ask how many have not got a satisfactory response because of the way this company behaves.

I use one of those 6’ folding banquet tables you can get at Costco or on Amazon. Not an elegant or high-tech solution, but would easily handle up to 3x32" monitors.

Got this in July have had no problems with it. It’s advertised as an L shape (which technically it is) however it is shaped more like a flat bottom V it that makes sense. Works great with my Thrustmaster Airbus Captains Pack and my (2) ASUS monitors
CON: If you’re looking at getting the Boeing yoke, you’ll be sitting farther back from your screens with this desk thank a traditional straight desk.

How do you like your setup? My jaw drop when I seen your post as I’m thinking about doing something similar. Do you think that my 7800xt with 16 gibs of onboard ram can perform decent. My CPU is a 9700 x with 32 gib of ram.

It runs well with GA aircraft, but the triples cut the framerate in half. I’m on a 2080ti and 32GB of RAM. I am seriously in need of an upgrade now, though. I get about 30 to 40 fps, but when I try using any airliners, it drops to about 20 fps, which is just not good enough for me. Apart from that, though, it is great. I can’t go back to a single screen, and even though I have a VR headset, I much prefer the triples.
