Confused about PC Standard purchase from Game Pass trial

I had to abandon MSFS 2020 after it stopped loading following the Dune update (CTD during the initial loading; never made it to Main page) and months of trying stuff failed. So today I purchased the 14-day Game Pass Trial for one dollar to try out 2024 to see if it loads and runs on the same system.

Yay - it does! I’ve been able to navigate all over, go to Marketplace, quick free flight etc. So I’ve talked myself into buying the full Windows PC Standard version.

Here’s my question, some confusion about wording on the page: On the Game Pass page, there’s a “Buy” option for $56, which is a nice discount, but do I have to maintain a Game Pass subscription to buy/download/use this? (I’ll try to attach a screenshot image) I really don’t need a Game Pass subscription; this was just a way to test 2024 without a large investment.

My plan was to try with Game Pass, then if it works to buy outright for my PC. If I buy on this page, do I have the full game even after cancelling Game Pass at the end of my 14-day trial? Thanks for feedback!

Once you buy it you don’t have to keep Game Pass.

Thanks! That seems like a decent deal - finally decided to come back to MSFS after all the 2020 frustration by the upcoming su2 updates for VR, which was/is my sticking point. Looks like they’ll finally address this starting in su2, so I’ll support the product again.
