Confused about the Working Title mods

So there are four mods.

G1000 and G3000. These are a screens in the cockpit. Which planes use the G1000 and which use the G3000? What are the major differences between these two systems?

The other mod is G3X. I am not sure what this is and how it fits in with G1000 and G3000.

And the last mod is CJ4. That’s for the CJ4 aircraft and I guess it updates a lot of stuff in that plane. Does the CJ4 use the G1000/G3000/G3x? So do I need any of these for just the CJ4?

Thanks

The cj4 mod only effects the cj4. The cj4 does not have a Garmin avionics suit so no g1000, g3000 or g3x. There is a Cessna 172 with the g1000 and I believe the tbm 930 has a g3000.

Adding on to that, the G3X is used in bush-style aircraft like the XCub or the Pipistrel Virus. Several aircraft use the G1000 like the C172, Bonanza, Baron, DA62, etc. As far as I know, only the TBM uses the g3000. All are excellent mods and I highly recommend the CJ4 mod, as well as the others.

Many more planes than that. These mods affect the

G1000

  1. Grand Caravan
  2. G58 Baron
  3. G36 Bonanza
  4. C172 AS1000
  5. DA40 NG
  6. DA62
  7. Beech King Air
  8. Cessna Longitude
  9. Cirrus SR22

The Generic Single, Multi, Private Jet, and Turbo aircraft use it as well.
The Icon and XCub also use code from the G1000, for the backup attitude.

G3000

  1. Cessna Longitude
  2. TBM930

Generic Turbo Single engine, too

G3X

  1. E330 (PFD and MFD)
  2. Beech KingAir 350
  3. Pipistrel (PFD and MFD)
  4. VL3

Thank you gents.

Do these mods improve the autopilot functionality or only the interfaces of the Garmin devices?

Both. Autopilot, flight programming, interface

Note that the G3X mod is a pretty early version, I don’t think it works with the portrait orientation G3X on the Pipistrel yet (per the documentation)

You get additional functionality besides just a prettier interface. With the G3000, you get much more in the small touch menus. I can’t remember if the G3X offers North Up tracking, but the 1000 and 3000 both do. To me, the nicest thing about the G3000 mod is the addition of Relative Terrain in the MFD. Any terrain higher than the plane or less than 100’ below is depicted in bright red. That feature saved my flight not too long ago flying into Juneau in some really crappy weather.

It’s supposed to, but there’s a known bug in the current version that’s preventing it from working. The displays still says NORTH UP, but the map is oriented to the aircraft heading. I’m assuming it will be resolved in one of the next updates.

I just realized I meant to say Track Up, but I think you’re right. Whichever one it does, it does so regardless of what option is selected.
